  That age-old classic......

  my dad had a visit from the co today(great!)..

  i overheard(cough cough) them talking and i heard the co say "...yes they have made 5 or 6 errors of judgement, but as long as you know that it is the truth, this should not be a stumbling block for you".. needless to say, my dad whole-heartedly agreed, aaagggghhhh!!!!..

  my dad went on to say that it doesn't matter what 'errors' are brought to his attention, it does not matter because he knows the 'nuts and bolts of it' are truth.. my question is, does it matter??.

  Sincere doubt on the Sovereign issue

  this is the first time i post to this forum in order to find new ideas about a doubt that has been torturing me.

  no one in my congregation was capable of providing me with a reasonable explanation, and the society did not answered my letter about this sincere doubt of mine.

  so, any help will be appreciated!.

  I don't see how mankind could accomplish any kind of governmental system, God-free or not, if he did not exist to do so. Without intervention from God, all life likely would have been ended if not for the Flood (so it implies). Nimrod comes across to me as being a charismatic megalomaniac intent on destroying all human life except his immediate family (if he would even stop there), so God stepped in to preserve mankind then. Who knows how many times (recorded or unrecorded) God has stepped in to prevent Satan from carrying out a 'rule or ruin' policy?

  It really doesn't seem fair to me that Satan can cause mankind to wipe himself off the face of the earth and then claim the victory regarding the sovereignty issue by default, hey?

  many others in the process of leaving need to read some of these books to get things straight in their own minds.. many better men than i have gone to a great deal of time, trouble and expense to put some of the society's older publications online - you simply need to search for them and save them to your hard drive.. i've put some of the more important works all together on one page.. you will find:.

  Amen, brothers/sister. If I don't like something somebody says, I just move on to the next post. There are so many good postings here, I don't have time to waste on what i do not like. If anyone here has that kind of time, life has been kinder to you than you can know.

  Honor among exJws

  hello all......some things that have happened during the past week have made me think about exjws and honor.

  we all remember 'theocratic warfare' and how it is ok to lie to those who don't deserve the truth.

  so, my question is.....are exjws as a group more dishonest than people from other religious groups?

  I have heard estimates of anywhere from tens of thousands to a million and a half ex-jw,s, from every known walk of life, every country, race, creed, the list goes on and on. (let the reader use discernment!) I believe there are as many reasons for being an ex-jw as there are for being a jw if not more, and there is no way to classify us. And there may be 'real' JW's among us even now, we just don't know.

  But these posters and chatters are a tiny subdivision of exjw's; computer literate ex-jw's who surf, post and chat. I don't know if it is fair to form any conclusions regarding ex-jw's based on all of us here. Although I have come to be very proud to be part of this little 'family'.
