  yes, as members of the governing body, they knew full well, exactly what carl's writings meant.

  i very seldom find time for checking the discussions going on at various debate sites, and wasnt aware of bill bowens statements about ray franz in his original post of oct. 9, 2002 at 7:26 (now evidently altered), until a friend quite recently sent my a copy of it.

  i was not only surprised but was shocked at his statements.

  as has been stated already, the presentation made from the silent lambs source in connection with the child abuse issue completely misrepresents my position.

  when i spoke by phone recently with the author of that presentation, and pointed out that i had never expressed the views presented, his comment was that from his previous conversation with me (held some months earlier) he "got the impression that i was not on the same wave length" with him.

  Maybe rays just getting old and forgetting things?

  TH I 'm hoping it's something simple like that. The alternative is too sad to contemplate.

  I have to respect J2L's comments about moving on, but how exactly does one do this in light of what continues to transpire?

  Very simple. Once you have said your peace/piece, move on to another thread to post on and don't come back untill a month or so later. That is what I did. After posting the Ray fRanz stuff under Scarbking, I completely stopped actively posting on the board for the better part of two months.

  Now, if I can stop posting to a group of usermembers --to which I was horribly addicted --for TWO MONTHS surely someone can post to a subject, have your say, and move on to a thread like Joelbear's or Stinky Pantz or one of those.

  If I can walk away, anybody can.

  the way i see it is that mr bowen brought himself to the fore in this program.

  he made a public spectacle of himself.

  in doing so he has naturally, in a free society, opened himself up to critism.

  The abuse victims are putting trust in this man and his movement. If he screws this up because of personal issues these poor abuse victims will have had thier trust betrayed twice- once from untrained elders and again from an untrained defender of their cause.

  The abuse victims that I have been in contact with say they are just fine with the way things are, they are just fine with Bill Bowen so far.

  And when the day comes and they are not, they will STILL be fine, there are thousands of Watchtower abuse survivors and they can take care of themselves and each other. I personally can attest to their strength and their courage.

  NOW RIGHT NOW someone needs to explain to Mr. Jonsonnnn that BillBowen didn't attack Ray Franz.

  And direct your insults, personal attacks and complete diversions of issue toward the RIGHT PERSON.

  Ozzie: maybe people can decide to just stay out of it the NEXT ten times it comes up? I stayed out of it for months 'over here'.

  Do you realize how many registered users of this board DID NOT PARTICIPATE in this thread? think about it...HUNDREDS did not post here. Not once. It CAN BE DONE.

  Not to mention, some of the ones who did post here did NOT fan the flames one bit. IT CAN BE DONE TOO.
