Russell and the illuminati
by raindog ini recently came across some articles that show a link to the illuminati, rothchilds, and charles russell.
is there any truth to this story?
i am sure he has a connection to the masons but how far does it go?

The problem is not finding information but finding reliable information. Like I mentioned, there are websites that write about the connection but then they also write about aliens living among us. I am curious as to anyone on the board has done any research on this topic.

I am sure he has a connection to the masons but how far does it go? One of the sources that printed the Russell-illuminati link also writes that aliens are going to take over the earth. So, not alot of credibility there. Any links to verified information would be appreciated.
Thanks,

Can any who grew up JW relate to this?
by Mickey mouse inconfession time!
i was raised in the troof and therefor never "chose" it.
i find it really hard to get my head around why anyone would ever join this organization as an adult.

Likewise, I was born into it. I agree with the statements in these posts that they prey on people at a low time in their life or either carrying alot of baggage.
My mom was raised in the JW's by a mentally ill mother. My mom's family was poor and did not have alot of friends, which is why she stuck with the JW's. My dad was raised as a Catholic in a very cold, unloving family. So, when my dad met my mom, it was a case of two lonely, needy, individuals, that needed something or someone to accept them. My mom has been abused by my dad since they were married and yet she sticks with him because "he is all she has got", the same reason she sticks with the JW's. This is the same reasoning she uses to dismiss the lies by the JW'

The Clicks
by reficul inanyone want to share their expierences on the clicks that would form in your meetings.
usually in my meeting they were started by the children of the so called elders.
freaking hipocrits, and spreading rumors and judging people all the time.

The issue of "cliques" is a major reason why I don't want anything to do with the JW's. When my family relocated we started attending a hall in Mentor,Ohio. I had never, and never since then, seen a group of people so snobbish in my life. One family reached out to fellowship with my family, but only out of obligation. My brother and I were only invited to parties out of obligation. Even when we were invited, I hated going because no one wanted to associate with us anyway. I never understood why a group of people that consider themselves "God's chosen people" separate rich, poor, socially inept, etc into groups just like the "world" does.
This contrasts greatly with what I found in a christian church I attended for years. Everyone felt welcome in the church. We always took visitors and new people out for coffee and invited them to our homes. After church on Sunday, everyone was invited to someones home for lunch. Note I say "everyone". It didn't matter whether you had money, looks or could hold a conversation. We considered them all "God's children."

Family :-(
by Bumble Bee indo you ever wish your family was different than what you have?
i would so love to have the type of family a friend of mine has.
they are all very very close, their children are very close, they get together every sunday for brunch, each sibling takes a turn at having it at their place.

I understand what you are going through, Bee, I have been going through a similar situation with my family. I posted a topic about a month ago "terminating ties with parents". The situation has eased up a bit but I am still angry. I feel like I have some sort of disease or something when I am around them. I was not invited to be a part of my jw brother's wedding, even though I was invited. I was surprised they had me in the family photos. Just the other day by dad was having chest pains and I offered to stay home and drive him to the hospital, if need be. No, I was told, they would call someone from the hall. I just dont understand how someone can treat a family member like a leper because of differences in religous philosophy

Issues That Made You ANGRY While You Were A Jehovah's Witness
by minimus inwhen i look back, i think of some things that really angered me about the organization.
i was raised as a witness and i was taught from a very early age that "reaching out" was the most important things i could do in life.
i was to reach out for "privileges" and get baptized.

Heres my list:
1)Being told that the world was going to end so there was no sense in going to college. For years, even after leaving the Borg, I still had issues with getting an education.
2)Not being able to participate in sports. My gym teacher in middle school pleaded with my parents to let me be on the wrestling team.
3)Probably the most personal one is when I took piano lessons one summer. The instructor thought I was talented enough that he was willing to give me free lessons in return for helping him repair pipe organs on the weekend. Well, everyone knows where pipe organs are located, so that brought an end to my budding musical career.
4)Going through the '75 debacle. I saw people that quit their jobs and sell their homes, for what?
5)The way people were snubbed when they were disfellowshiped. I remember a teenage girl who got pregnant. She came to every meeting and sat in the back row. Nobody ever talked to her. Even after she was "reinstated", people snubbed her.

All JW families are the same! mine included.
by talesin ini have to admit when i am wrong, so here goes.
my family is the same as every other.
just as lowdown, greedy and liars to the core.

I didn't realize all JW families were the same until I found this forum. It is interesting how so many people have gone through the same garbage with their familys that I have with mine. The more I read, the more I realize how programmed JW's are. I found out some time ago that I am not in my parents will, in fact, my dad said he was going to leave everything to the society.

I NEED TO VENT
by Cindi_67 infor the past weeks, i have gotten in touch with a lot of old high school classmates.
a lot of them i've found over the internet.
after reading their profiles and talking to them, to my surprise, a lot of them are professionals with degrees like doctors, engineers, business, etc.

Hey Cindi,
I am a newbie on the list but I can relate to your situation. I grew up as a JW during the height of the '75 disaster. I still remember sitting at an assembly in Cincinnati, and hearing the speaker say "todays generation will not make it to finish high school". Many of my parents freinds reitereated the same thought. I was always told to get a trade or factory job because the world was going to end soon. Well, when your 5 years old and start hearing this kind of talk it has a lasting effect. I was kicked out of my parents house at 16 and I attempted to go back to school and start a career. However, those comments always stuck in the back of my mind. I am now 43 and finally finishing my degree and heading to law school. I did manage to stay in touch with my JW parents but I am about to cut the cord on that because even now they are becoming such a negative influence. Everytime I talk with them I am told what a waste it is that I am going to school. On an interesting side note, as I mentioned I am studying law, I mentioned to my parents that I was doing a legal memo on the child abuse case. They told me, not ask, but told me I should choose another subject as the society doesn't need the negative publicity and I shouldn't be publicizing the situation. Anyway, Cindi, I know where your coming from on this issue.
