  What's the most hypocritical thing(s) you've ever seen a JW do?

  up high on my list has to be when a jw co-worker named john fitzgerald tore into me one morning (when i was coming in late for work) for grabbing a quick piece of cake from the lunch room.

  turns out, someone in this small little office had brought in the remainder of their birthday cake for folks at work to finish up eating.

  john was older than i and a ministerial servant (ooh) and felt it his responsibility to keep me on the straight and narrow.

  My Mom always put me down for celebrating Christmas and criticized my wife for sending her a Christmas card, yet she had no problem accepting a monetary gift from her stepfather every year around Christmas time. She refused to say the $200 was a Xmas gift, even though he always sent it to her in Dec.

  new light on churches??

  my very jw mother went to my daughter's wedding in a mainstream church this summer.

  this is the first time i ever remember her going into a church.

  she refused to attend my wedding in a methodist church and also my brother's in a mainstream church.

  Thank you, everyone for your responses. I do agree with you, Scully. I think the Logansport cong. is more liberal than some I have heard about. I was just shocked that it was suddenly alright for her to go after so many years of refusing to enter churches for any reason. I wasn't even sure she would attend the reception since it was held in a Knights of Columbus hall but she came to both. I do have pics of her standing at the altar with the cross and the American flag in the background. She did not seem to have a problem with the pics either.

  Hi all,

  My very jw mother went to my daughter's wedding in a mainstream church this summer. This is the first time I ever remember her going into a church. She refused to attend my wedding in a Methodist church and also my brother's in a mainstream church. Have they received new light on this? When I asked her about it, she said it was not a written rule and that the Watchtower left it up to the jw to decide if they wanted to go into "Babylon the Great " or not. She never attempted to have a relationship with my daughter when she was growing up, so I was extremely surprised, yet happy that she chose to attend her wedding. So, what's up????????

  Thanks to everyone that replied to my question. My daughter is getting married in a mainstream church, so I know my mother will not attend her wedding, but I thought there might be a chance she would go to the reception. Thanks again for taking the time to respond.

  UN INFO FLYERS ON JW WINDSHIELDS?

  anyone thought of this idea for disseminating un issue to the rank and file?

  in my opinion it would be pretty easy to print up a bunch of one-pagers from one of the websites that put all the info in a concise format, and distribute them at night during the "service meeting" in the kingdom hall parking lot.. what do ya guys/gals think?
