i just came back from the meeting .although the local announcements have been abolished recently as an item for the second part , an elder came on the platform to announce that the society needs more money and there is a letter on the noticeboard for all the congragation to read to this effect.
although the announcement was read half heartedly (this elder's daughter is an apostate ,it looks like he knows what's going on) the implictions are dramatic .
the society in brief, requests any brother or sister with funds sitting on personal accounts to loan them to the society ,he didn't go into any specifics but i will take a picture of the letter next time and make it available here .. i'm not amazed that they're asking for money ,i thought it will happen sooner or later .what i'm amazed is that 99% of the congragation are oblivious to the financial crisis that the society finds itself these days and the reasons why .i can see the future now .the watchtower will be the fist part of the babylon the great to go down in a blaze of scandals and financial troubles !.

i'm a nature photographer and like most always seeking better, longer glass.. i'm most attracted to the 600mm f4 is canon lens though some have suggested dropping down to a 500mm due to the weight issue.
both these lenses are heavy and i can't see myself lugging either one long distances without my modified baby stroller.. any experiences with either lens?
what tripod head are you using?.
Nikon D800E with Nikor 24X70mm lens. It is obviously not a real nature photographers lens but it does the trick. ;) I find photographing animals arduous, boring, and excruciating at the same time. These days it's all about street photography and I'm also going to pack a portable printer around with me and take free photographs of people in Nepal (if they let me take their picture) and print them a copy right then and there. Oh, and northern India too. There is a gorgeous area that has just opened up to tourists and I'm planning on going in on a two week government permit. :D I'm quite excited about this! The mountains are unclimbed and unmapped.
My new passion is becoming macro photography and the year after next I am hopefully going on an expedition into the Bolivian rain forest into a little known reserve via bush plane. The insects, animals, and biodiversity is positively stunning to say the least.

the test by researchers at goldsmiths, university of london, tried to establish whether mediums could use psychic abilities to identify something about five unseen volunteers.. the results, carried out under test conditions, did not show evidence of any unexplained powers of insight.. but medium patricia putt said this experiment "doesn't prove a thing".. this halloween challenge was an attempt to investigate whether professional mediums could demonstrate their psychic powers in a controlled setting - by inviting them to deduce something about people they had never met and could not see or hear..
I can prove that psychic abilities exist.
What am I thinking right now?
my dad heard from the co who heard from a do that heard from his brother-in-law that heard from the friend of a governing body's wife, that the gb is getting very concerned that "the friends" are losing sight of the nearness of the panda-petting paradise.
many of these friends are also looking too critically at the "spiritual food" provided by the "faithful slave class.".
don't tell anyone else, but i hear that the gb has begun testing something new on some of the sheeple.

Matterhorn. It's a book out the American War. (Vietnam)
until recently, i had never encountered this word "believers" used as it is being used on this board, to describe pejoratively a group of people.
it's not clear to me whether they scorn all who have a faith of some sort.
do they include buddhists, hindus, followers of the baha'i faith, followers of the cargo cult, native americans along with christians, or is it just christians who are honoured with this epithet?.
Chariko, darling! Part of the grieving process from this stupid high-control group is anger at god. It is expected!
The ones who regularly engage are a select few but we're not all like that.
People who believe are not all generally 'stupid', no more than millitant atheists are all 'smart'. ;) And all that believe are not all christian fundumbmentalists just like atheists are, um, whatever... ;P
Please don't put me in that group that scorn, and I won't call you a christian fundumbmentalist. :D

i'm an ms (accounts servant) in a large congregation in canada.
over the last several years i've faught a hard-won battle to rid my mind of all religous and supernatural beleifs.
i've been following the lance armstrong debacle, although i'm not really interested in sports.
it's interesting how at first it was hard to believe that he was guilty of doping, because of his public image.
it seems, though, that the evidence is overwhelming.
I LOVE Lance Armstrong and support him and his charity. He's done so much for raising funds for the battle against Cancer.
this is a fascinating look inside some of the mormon rituals.
my quick take-away?
pastor russell wishes he'd thought of this stuff.. .
Wacko's. But then so are JW's and their bizarre 'traditions'.
