Well, I'm nauseated now. Gag inducing dramatizations at my DC
by Lady Zombie induring the hour long symposium: empowered by holy spirit.
under the part "to fight temptation," a little dramatization of a young married man doing some work on his laptop.
he is tapping away when he suddenly slams his laptop shut.

I actually would have liked to have seen it, so I could walk out half way through.

If you're 40, never been married, and are a trekkie or a sci-fi fan, the odds are not in your favour.
As previousley stated, having alimony payments is worse than loneliness, I imagine.

Pioneer Sister tells my Wife If your Raped just pray to Jehovah for help??
by Witness 007 inwhile being new in the truth my wife dicussed the rape issue with her pioneer {my mums annionted} teacher.
her response was to say if your raped you need to pray to jehovah for help and just yell for him to stop so it's not considered fornication.
i was shocked at this so i found her an awake article about a sister who was assulted by a tradesmen in her home.

As crazy as the bible is... yeah!
According to the old testament, the victim would be stoned to death.

Lovers of Hate
by Farkel inany rational person knows that hatred is probably the most destructive human emotion of all.
billions of people have died and suffered as a result of it.
why, then would a supposedly divine, loving and perfect god set the worst kind of example for weak humans by practicing hatred himself and wanting humans to follow his creepy example?.

It's easier to hate than to love. I think we're all guilty of hating something we don't understand, too.

Subjective "truths"?
by Narkissos inthis is somehow related to my previous topic on "truth and freedom" (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/6/159428/1.ashx) and to an even more recent exchange with hamilcarr on the issue of "authority" of scripture/writing, on the fringe of another thread (http://www.jehovahs-witness.com/10/159703/2.ashx).. truth in the "objective" sense implies a strict and exclusive correspondence of language and fact (or, more modestly, perceived "phenomenon").
the kind of correspondence (whether provable or not, that is still another issue) which is sought in both "scientific" and "fundamentalistic" speech.
once the signifiants (words) and the signifies (phenomena) are accurately defined, an assertion can be qualified as either "true" or "false" (tertium non datur: there is no "third" option, according to the famous aristotelic principle).

Is Copper theft on the rise in your area ??
by Casper init has become unreal in our small hick town.
people are ripping out water lines in new homes before they are even finished, contractors are losing their minds.... our house has a walk out basement, garage combo with two huge windows.
all our water lines are copper and visible thru the windows... we're afraid we'll come home one day and they'll all be gone.... air conditioners have become a prime target.

1983 Australia Gov. Body member Lyod Barry promises NO change to 1914!
by Witness 007 inlistening to the australia bethel dedication talks 1983 {avalible on cassette} loyd barry of the governing body tells of how an old missionary brother aproached him and said: "the society can change any doctrine they want...but please brother, don't change the doctrine regarding 1914.
" {he had hoped to live thru to paradise} loyd responds: "brothers, we have no intension of changing the 1914 doctrine.".
remember this was just after raymond franz handed out to the governing body members, copies of an article written by an elder dis-proving 607 and 1914....i think in 1979.. so, after loyd barry died, in 1993, the 1914 generation theory was thrown out...that missionary had long since died.

Medical Marijuana
by wha happened? inhas anyone tried it?
if so for what ailment and how effective was it?
-
shamus100
Good day, everyone.
All drugs affect people in different ways. For some, you will have bad side effects - for others, not so much or none. Just like any drug, try it and see how you do.
I see no problem with medical marijuana. But for the chronic pothead, like Jgnat said, that is A-typical. I do have friends that smoke; they act very normal, not moody, and have smoked it since high school - and very successful too, I might add(50 years old). Me? It turns me into a chip-eating couch potatoe. No thanks.
