For photographers - Canon shooters
by SadElder ini'm a nature photographer and like most always seeking better, longer glass.. i'm most attracted to the 600mm f4 is canon lens though some have suggested dropping down to a 500mm due to the weight issue.
both these lenses are heavy and i can't see myself lugging either one long distances without my modified baby stroller.. any experiences with either lens?
what tripod head are you using?.

Here is my follow-up;
It's still set up and it works like a dream. It is really really precise!
And yes, shoot in Raw plus jpeg if you can. ;) Can't recommend RAW enough - if you ever want true ownership of your photos you need to do this.

Hint,
I found using a 50mm lens (f1.4) a great little lens. It's light, cheap, and the shots are brutally clear. Try putting that one in your arsenal. Well worth the money and a really fun lens to play with. :D

Well I just finished two days of shopping and extreme spending. The equipment I bought is gorgeous and high quality but oh man, did I pay... :O I'm not proud of it either, but rather, sick about it...
Anyhoo... Here is my head.
Kirk BH-1 Ball head. It's really gorgeous. Now the reason why I bought it was because of my battery mount - the second I put it on my camera I looked at my previous ball-head and told myself there was NO WAY that heavy camera was going on that. If all that money went crashing down it would have been awful.
I also bought another batter for the battery mount and a $200.00 mounting bracket. :O
I'm going to vomit now but my equipment is all set up and WOW! Is this ball-head awesome. It was expensive as hell but seems well worth it.

Well now, I hjave to disagree with you about god being a bigot - there are many more 'gods' than the christian god you are probably accustomed to. Remember that jobie nitwits have the most distorted and sick view of god anywhere. ;)

It's quite sad to see that some (arguably) arrogant Americans and Canadians have the audacity to bitch about cheap Chinese goods and blame China for it. The unfortunate truth is that there is huge demand in North America and other first-world nations for this cheap garbage. The blame lies within your country boundaries, not China.
If current trends continue, most sweatshops will move to Cambodia (which already has a very large number) and Bangladesh. India is prospering, Vietnam is getting more expensive, and when this happens the factories slowly but inevitably move to poorer nations.
Although the working conditions are terrible the word on the street is not buying these goods causes more harm than good. These people depend on those sweatshop jobs to feed their families.
It's a catch-22.

Old time JW's did some very devout JW's refuse to eat pizza with pepperroni because they believed "blood" was in the pepperroni?
by booker-t ini have never heard this before until i read a life story of an ex-jws and how some jws in the past refused to eat pepperoni pizza because they thought blood was in pepperoni.
i do know some elderly jw sisters would complain about eating steak if it bled while cooking.
has anybody else heard of this pizza nonsense?.
