My wife and I are starting to look into moving out of the U.S. We are looking at both Canada and Australia but are leaning to Canada. Keep in mind we are just starting to do research so we haven't delved too far in to the politics or locations in Canada. Does anyone have any location suggestions? I prefer to be near the Ocean, for spiritual reasons, and I'm a city type of person. However, I can deal with being a little ways away from any major city. Both of us will be in the medical field so are options for employment are usually pretty good.

Anyone tried any XBox mod chips?
by Simon ini'm thinking of getting a mod chip for my xbox now that there are solderless ones coming out - i can cope with taking apart a pc like device but i'm better at the 'theoretical' side of electronics when it comes to soldering.. anyone tried them?.
i was thinking of fitting a 120gb drive (or similar) to load games on so the kids can just switch on and go.
obviously, i have no intention of renting games from blockbuster or using my dvd writer in anyway .

I must say I've only had a mod chip put in my Dreamcast otherwise I haven't messed with them. I love my xbox too much to take that kind of a chance.

I had a friend of 15 years stop talking to me because of my apostate attitude. He felt 'very sorry for me and my daughter' because of Armageddon. I told him to call me in 10 years and tell me how close we are to the end of the system of things. Then 10 years later, call me again with the same message. I said keep calling me every ten years to tell me about how close we are to the end. Then on his death bed he can look back and see how he wasted his life and call me one last time to tell me how close Armageddon is just before he dies. I would feel more sorry for these people if they weren't so stupid.

American Dominance.
by Englishman inisn't it strange that the worlds only super power - america - doesn't actually govern over an empire?.
i mean, think about it, how many countries has america subdued by force and then proceeded to permanently occupy?.
according to my limited knowledge of history, it must be the only world power ever to be able to dominate the planet without actually occupying another country.. englishman.

We have found a different way to subjegate other countries to our will, economics. We may not be occupying allot of land as compared to other empires but our reach is far longer and just as devastating. Also, by not occupying a country we pretty much control we get a pseudo sense of morality in our descisions. We don't have to physically be there to murder innocents like in days past we have others do that for us. Our country operates on plausible deniability and self rightous hypocrisy.

Bwahaha, typical crap. If you don't like the U.S of A get yer sorry commie ass outta here. I love how anyone who criticizes this Country must automatically hate it. I guess people are willing to trade critical thinking skills for patriotism.
Yes indeed, the US sells arms and makes a little money doing it, but with very few exceptions were not handing out weapons of Mass Destruction to the highest bidder AND, we're fixing to whoop up on the one guy who did get WMD that shouldn't have. In other words, WE are strong enough, militarily, to clean up the mess we make.
The US doesn't make a little money it makes alot of money. Those very few exceptions always seem to come back and bite us in the ass. So because we have a strong military we are justified in making the mistake in the first place? This is the kind of logic that keeps getting us into trouble.
The reason there are oil and food sanctions against NK is because it RESUMED it's Weapons program.
There has always been sanctions against NK, we have never lifted them only eased them.
The leader of NK is a nut job, I think we can all agree on that. However, we were not willing to rework our sanctions and they lashed out. Was that right of them? No. But our strong arm tactics are not only immature they expose us to the rest of the world as nothing more than bullies. As citizens we may think 'so what screw em all' but sooner or later this will come back to bite us in the ass just like all of our other bad descisions.
I would think that as someone in the military, Yeru2, you would be one who isn't to hot on getting shot at.

Can the US police the whole world?
by JH ineven if the united states is the only superpower, can it really make war with iraq, and tackle north korea, and keep an eye on china, and other countries at the same time?
why does the us always have to take care of troubled spots all over the world by itself?
why can't japan and south korea take care of the north korean crisis?

Hey, D8TA I take it by your avatar that you're still in Brazil? Hope you're enjoying it (bastard) :)
NK is actually timing their threats perfectly. Kudos to them for working the system. But if they go to war don't expect China to help them. I think China really likes the amount of money they are making with our trade and they don't want to mess with that too much. As much as we like to beat our chest about how bad ass we are, we cannot wage two wars at the same time without devastating losses.

EQ = crack?

fascinating read - it's an article on the mmorpg industry, and sony in particular.. (beware, of course, as sony is likely to run 'star wars: galaxies' the exact same way):.

I was addicted to Asheron's Call for about 2 years. It got to a point where I almost lost my job. The games require huge amounts of time to get anywhere but the socialization is what keeps you coming back. As of now I play Dark Age of Camelot but I'm able to not play it for weeks to months at a time. You just have to decide what is most important in your life. If it is a game then so be it if not then learn to curb the habit.

Is the bible inspired?
by JH inwhat part of the bible do you think is pure invention, and what part do you think is true.
-
gsx1138
Inspired? Yes.
By God? No
The NT is definately written after the fact as it was not even started until some time after Jesus (supposed) death. It is like me writing a book now how I predicted the Lotto numbers from 1995. If some people wish to believe something is true without any evidence or evidence that contradicts what they believe that is fine. However, the truth won't go away even if you choose to ignore it. I had a friend who would come into work everyday and pick up a random book, flip to a random page, and read a random line then give a small sermon about how it was inspired by God. Every time he did this it was just as logical and easy to understand as anything written in the Bible. He was trying to prove to our younger employees they shouldn't believe everything they heard in church. As for prophecies in the Bible: http://skepticsannotatedbible.com/prophecy.html

I feel like I may have misread your first story. If this is a grandparent then she has no parental rights at all. It sounds like she is just trying to threaten you by using your child. Trauma Hound gave a huge list and I hope it helps. Sounds to me like the lady is f_cked in the head.
