WANTING to Believe in God

has anyone had this experience?.

after letting go of my beliefs as a jw, i felt the only alternative was to be atheist.

or maybe it is just logical to there is no god when i am only listening to my mind and not my heart.

It took me 10 years to drop the JW baggage and find the Goddess. I've always believed that we are not the only thing there is in the universe. This is totally up to the individual. There is nothing wrong with being Atheist, Christian, Jewish, Pagan, or agnostic. All of these require a descision on your part. In the end you answer to yourself. One of the best things about being a non JW is that you are free to make an informed choice. Good luck to you and blessed be.

Bwahahahaha, more christian ignorance at work. I guess since I'm a witch that makes me the spawn of Satan. Here's a hint to all christians out there, We don't care about you. No self respecting witch would waste their time casting a spell against a christian. On top of that one of our main tenants is the rule of three. For whatever negativety you put forth it shall be revisited upon you threefold. It is this kind of fundamentalism that gives christians a bad name. I believe that most christians are like most Pagans. We have a live and let live attitude.

Will any dubs be stumbled about WTS T.V. flicks

when the watchtower "infomercials" make it to the airwaves in canada, will the common drones be stumbled?.

for me, the inevitable comparison will prevail, that is the comparison between the infomercials put out by the church of latter day saints (the mormons) and the ones that the witchtower will use dubb dollars to pay to air.. when i was at the bookstudy last week, the bookstudy overmiester handed out the kms.

right after the opening prayer, one wannabe dub unbaptised man spoke up about what he found under the announcements about the tv infomercials.

you a right to start a crusade and the right to get a life and still feel free to write and talk as you please specially if the writting and talking is going to help someone.

then a sucker is born and the cycle start all over.. being realistic the usa has been trying to nock down a regime in cuba for half a decade... besides writting and talking against it.

anyway what goes up must come down, but for more than a millenium this law hasn't aplied to some churches, catholic.. why do i care about this anyway?.

Our prohibition of Cuba is the stupidest law in the world. I don't need any cryin ass political answers either. You want to reform a country? Open up trade and put a McDonalds on every corner. See how long communism lasts in Cuba with a big mac in everyones hand. Of course I think that as long as any church puts forth campaign contributions they should be taxed. You want seperation of church and state threaten taxation.

hi everyone.while i have lurked on this board for some time this is my very first post.

the main reason for my reluctance to post has been the fact that my job keeps me pretty busy - however i have enjoyed the board so much i felt i would love to be a more tangible presence and have decided to take the plunge.

i will give more details of my background later.

Yep, that is the same Paul Hughes. He was the only "cool" elder who actually would talk to us when we were teenagers. He was one of the elders on my DFing committee who made the, "I don't even have sex with my wife that much comment." How do you know Paul?

I've been studying.........

i have been studying with the jw's for several years.

they have been pressuring me to become one of them, but something seems to be holding me back, instinct maybe?

i agree a lot of their teaching are good, and i'm sure are the truth but here are a few of the things that bother me: jw's use the scripture hebrews 10:25 not forsaking the gathering of yourselves together...... to justify their meetings.

Also remember that nowhere in the new testament was Jehovah's name written. Even the dead sea scrolls do not mention Jehovah by name. Your descision is yours thus like others here I recommend you do your own study. One thing I know about JW is they like to ignore FACTS. You can ignore all you want but a fact will always be there.
Sure we would all love for you not to be a JW because most of us know the ramifications of such a descision but it is up to you. Good luck.

Ten Year Ex-JW Anniversary

friday, may 1st, 1992, i drove my kids to the motel we stayed at for the circuit assembly in woodburn, oregon.

i told them that i was not going to attend the assembly at all.

on saturday morning, may 2nd, i dropped them off at the front of the assembly hall, making this the very first day where i ceased going to meetings.. driving away from woodburn, i headed to the beach at lincoln city, oregon where i took time to walk a long beach - alone - enjoying the wind breeze through my hair - the sand move between my toes - the sea gulls chanting and squeaking - the steady roll of the waves - the gentle roaring sound as they cascaded onto the shore and an occasional sip of scotch.. it was the first day of the rest of my life ... the beginning of having my life back ... the beginning of personal freedom of the mind and heart.. today, ten years later - i still can feel the fresh breeze and the sand ... and i have no regrets, no doubt, no fear ... i need not look back anymore.

I forgot to record my DF date but it was in August of 1990. I'm happy for you because I too know the feeling of freedom. It is good to see that you're doing so well. How long did it take you, if at all, to get over the WTS? It took me 10 years to completely shed any semblence of WTS in my self.
