  i remember working at a banquet hall/resturant, and it was just around the time when the jw teachings/actions weren't sitting well with me.

  but my mind was still very much a jw.

  a lady, whom i clicked with & whom i'd hung out with a few times, came up to me one day and said "homeschool, there's a couple things i wanted to tell you.

  for all those that read my post from the other day, i have been asked that if i am to miss any meetings i must call one particular elder per his request.

  so on sunday i woke up and decided to stay home from the meeting and test my theory that this guy is on a power trip.

  i "had a headache" which in all reality was a small hangover from the night before.

  i always wondered why there were verses in the nwt which were just a dash.. the borg says these are spurious additions to the texts.. they have deceitfully hidden the fact that the bible as we know it was decided upon by the western church under constantine.. they claim the text has been preserved by holy spirit.

  but they reserve the right ot edit further.. the gospel of john is an outstanding example of this.. they acknowledge that john was an "eye witness".. the spurious passage at john 7:53 - 8:11.. "these twelve verses have obviously been added to the original text of john's gospel.

  There is no such thing available as an 'original' for nothing written in the bible. All that is available is copies of copies of copies most of them centuries and milleniums after the so called 'facts'.

  I ask myself how naive and nearsighted I must've been when I believed those 'copies' as actually something of worth...

  Dont waste your time making comparisons of human copies of human inspired writings... the more you search the more you will find... that makes each and every translation as useless as the next.

  i had a couple of pretty good ones, i thought.. my first one was theocratic news.

  i know a lot of congregations that did this one.

  we had a long table facing the audience, and we gave the "theocratic news" from the km as if it were a tv news broadcast.

  I will never forget the ones that had to do with preaching under persecution! This sister would approach a person, preach... the person would report her... and she would have pants rolled under her skirt, a tshirt under her blouse... she would reach into her bag and turn it inside out and put on a hat... and voilá! no one would recognize her... Viva Las Vegas!

  God Complex

  does it seem as though fathers of jw famlies have a god complex?

  from what i've seen it seems like they will ask some of the most outrageous things of their famlies just to see if they'll do it.

  i've seen for my self one of these men ask thier famlies members to walk through filthy water to get a basket ball for him when he wouldn't do it for himself, i've also seen them make their daughters lotion their feet, ect.

  There should be no surprise. Jewish-Christian-Islamic religions and sects are the most chauvinistic you can find. It must be a 'family' thing since they are all related and all worship the same god... the god of abraham. These religions have always treated women as a lesser being to the point of absurdity... The old testament refers to women's biological cycles as 'making them un-pure' and being cast from the tents. Christianity has killed thousands (some scholars say millions) of women under the Inquisition accused of witchcraft etc etc.

  Jws of today follow precepts such as 'women should be silent' and 'submissive' to man...

  Yet the most ancient worship systems that exist worship the goddess... women are considered sacred and to be respected and revered as the life giving vessel...

  Elder Says My Daughter's Promotion & Job Success From Devil!

  an elder and his wife paid my mom a friendly shepherding call and they asked how my ex was doing.

  she said, "fine, as far as she knows".

  then they asked about my daughter and my mother praised her for her hard work and the fact that she won a special award within her company in which she gave a speech for, and then the former bethel elder said, "well, that's how satan the devil gets people, through praise and making people feel that their work is more important than anything else".

  Can You Help me Define Love?

  sad to say, i have never loved.

  i cannot define the word except perhaps by using the term "tolerance.

  Because I know the taste of a love that came too late…

  Love is eternal and timeless, starlight of the soul

  Very little is needed to make us feel complete and whole.

  But Love can also be poison, poison of the worst kind,

  The kind that kills us slowly by robbing our peace of mind…

  Nobody can truly say that he escapes

  These heartfelt things without a scrape

  It doesn’t matter if the feelings are near or afar

  Love is the sweet knife that always leaves a scar

  You may pretend to be unhurt, like a kid after a fall...

  But deep inside you also know it isn’t true at all

  You may act like it is over, dealt with and gone...

  But all you need to remember is a sight or a song

  And that 'dealt with' thing that has no name

  Aches red hot and the pain is just the same

  What is true and what is not? We fool ourselves with definitions

  While all the time deep inside we know our true condition

  Love, the greatest emotion ever born,

  is like a rose, which is beautiful but full of thorns…

  Love is the only thing

  that quenches this thirst that may never stop…

  So if your thorns prick me and I bleed…

  it was worth it till the last drop!
