  Can't say that I think they do......Jesus did not set down dozens or hundreds of man made rules........he simplified what his followers were to supposed to do:

  I agree, his two laws were the greatest laws a person can follow....but he also said if you didn't follow and believe in him, you had no eternal life since he was the only way to the father.   Hmmm..........I would ask a family member point blank to point out where it says you should ignore a family member for not believing that the WTS is God's sole communication with mankind........

  What is also interesting is even when you tell the witnesses you no longer wish to be called a brother since you no longer wish to be a part of their organisation.....they STILL treat you as though you are a brother by shunning you.

  Witnesses who fade off slowly and become inactive for many years and become "wordly", are many times left alone by elders since these ones are no longer recognised as Jehovahs Witnesses by the public nor by the congregation. These ones never get the label slapped on them ( DFed ) and are not always shunned by other members.....yet if one tells the brothers he no longer wishes to be one of Jehovahs Witnesses.......they disassociate you and you are treated the same as disfellowshipped ones and are shunned by all witnesses, go figure.

  Need help: Last days and Tongues

  does anybody know of scriptures that talk about speaking in tongues in the "last days"?

  i thought i read somewhere about it but can't seem to find it.

  for example: did speaking in tongues stop with the death of the apostles as per the wtbts ?

  So far, I've never heard of a translator admitting they have understood a tongue speaker. They babble nothing as it's all an emotional experience.

  Joel 2:28-29) 28 "And after that it must occur that I shall pour out my spirit on every sort of flesh, and YOUR sons and YOUR daughters will certainly prophesy. As for YOUR old men, dreams they will dream. As for YOUR young men , visions they will see. 29 And even on the menservants and on the maidservants in those days I shall pour out my spirit.

  I'd like to see any pastors response.... dub elders included, if a young man or a woman had a vision or a dream. They'd be labeled a looneybird in no time.

  The Israelites cried "Peace and Security" when the Roman armies besieging Jerusalem withdrew. The sudden destruction came when those Roman armies came back.

  Are you sure that would matter a lot to the Thessalonians?

  Good News - it is basal cell cancer....

  to those who have followed my previous thread - here is the latest update [and hopefully the end of the story].

  though this sounds bad enough - no one wants to have cancer of any sort - this is both the most prevalent and the most treatable of all skin cancer.

  it is tied directly to uv exposure.. the good news is that basal cell is treated with simple proceedures of removal of the affected tissue in most cases [including mine.

  after comparing romans 13:1-7 , john 15: 18-21, james 4:4, what do you think it means to be "no part of the world"?

  let's say paul was telling the church at romans 13: 1-7, "be subject to the secular government," which at that time was the roman empire.
