here's the question.. how do you prove to a jehovah's witness that the "great crowd" spoken of in the book of revelations is a group who's eternal hope is a "heavenly one" rather than a "seperate" group of jesus followers with a seperate eternal residential destiny?.

Mere Children who are Disfellowshipped
by BabaYaga inthis was inspired by another thread, where freetosee told of a young witness baptised at the tender age of 9, and disfellowshipped at age 12!!!
the mind goes wild at what a 12-year-old should ever be disfellowshipped for.
how would a kid be so unrepentant they would deserve losing their family and friends?

....want to wave at Blondie....hi
My little sister was baptized at 12, started smoking at 13 and was DFed.
This led to many questions amoung the family and so I called the society and asked how her baptism should be viewed and they said( at the service desk) that "whatever the Elders decided upon her should be valid". In other words she should be viewed as DFed. Years later my mom asked the Elders in her hall how she should treat this daughter and they told her her my sisters baptism should be viewed as invalid as she was too young to be held accountable to her baptism.
The point is......different congregations view these young ones differently than another congregation. Many elders don't follow procedure, ideas vary, personalities vary, many are from the old school and have influence over their fellow elders.....in other words there is no "unity" in matters of decision making that varies from hall to hall.

THE END IS NEAR
by Mary inwith all the ridiculous hype amongst the dubs about how this new tract is going to help bring about "the end", i thought it would be beneficial to highlight how often they've been crying that the sky is falling in the last 1/2 century:.
***w50 2/15 p. 54" stick to your work"*** now is the time to live and work as christians, especially now, for the final end is near.
*** the time of the end is near!

Norman Hovland, is to go into hospital tomorrow, Thursday 18 October, for a small operation. Here's to Norm - a real thorn in Watchtower's side!
I hope Norms ( small) operation goes better than my small operation which has been a pain in the ass now for about the last 5 months. I hope Norm shopped REAL HARD for a doctor that knows his stuff and knows it well. * tries to scare the hell out of Norm* So does this mean the Norway ski trip is off for those who wanted to freeze their arse off in the winter for an apostofest ? I just hope Norm can play the guitar after his operation and they ain't takin his hand off or sumthin.........or his nutsack.
Good riddins.......I,I,I I mean good luck, ya mean lookin bastard!
Ian is right about norm bein a thorn in the Watchtowers side as this dude is one of the internet apostate true pioneers with a huge record of informing the internet interested public ( many witnesses included ) about the true workings of the Jehovah's Witnesses written in awesome essays.

I don't see how you prove from the bible that anyone goes to heaven. There are no verses suggesting that at all
Wow there Butters.....that's quite a statement you made there. So, nowhere in the scriptures will you find anything relating to a heavenly life you say? Perhaps you remember Jesus saying he was going to prepare a place for his followers in heaven where his father resides and that in his fathers house there are many mansions and that he would take them there himself?
I agree Butters that it seems god would stick to his original plan and keep man on the earth, that his 1000 year reign was earthly, but you cannot deny the fact that the scriptures speak of heavenly life as well.......such as the dead being "changed" , putting on immortality instead of mortality, those that will inherit the heavens( see Matt 5 ) paul saying our citizenship is in the heavens etc. Also you have the Great Crowd, the 144,000 "in heaven before the throne" waving palm branches, you have the marriage of the bride to the lamb in heaven.
I don't see how you can say the scriptures do not speak of a heavenly life.
Auldsoul.....I already mentioned John 10 as the dubs proof of another flock as well as Psalms 37.....both of these BEFORE statements in Revelation.

Dang I love you guys and I missed you too. Thank you all for all the work you did in finding info on this. Now all I gotta do is read and study what all the info you posted. Lately my time has been taken and I haven't had time to search all this out.
Boy do I have a headache from reading this stuff. Is there a specific reason why you want this clarified. Are you thinking of stirring up the pot a little?
Actually Juni, yes there was a reason for this question. Two Sundays ago the Watchtower study dealt with this subject and once again stated the two different hopes of Jesus followers and they used the courtyard area as proof of their statement and so I wanted to get the facts in my head as I may get the balls to approach an elder on this asking him about this.......cuz I'm a sly kinda bastard....and maybe I can plant some demonic seeds in this guys head about the truthfulness of the Great Crowd and where they actually will reside.
Mary and another pointed out Rev 19 which was a scripture I had forgotten......thank you
I'm still tryin to decide who to send the 25 cents to......but I need you to first send me 33 cents for a stamp. I suppose I could trade this out in a nutbag buffin....cept fer the fact some girls posted too and I don't do girls cuz they ain't got one.

How do you prove to a Jehovah's Witness that the "Great Crowd" spoken of in the book of Revelations is a group who's eternal hope is a "heavenly one" rather than a "seperate" group of Jesus followers with a seperate eternal residential destiny?
I do remember reading that a single Greek word was used as regards to where this great crowd served, as well as those who were heavenly priests. The witnesses of course believe that this Great Crowd serves today in the outer coutrtyard, and the heavenly priests (144,000) serve in the inner coutyard. This is one of their strongest scriptures they have ( at least in their minds) which proves that Jesus had TWO sets of christians, two flocks, two destiny's, and two hopes.
I'll pay the winner 25 cents ......cept for you hafta pay for the shipping ( stamp) if you can show conclusive proof using Lexicons Etc. if needed......and Watchtower definitions which twists greek truths....and compare them side by side. Plus.....if you can do it.....everyone will think your a smart bastard like I am and people will worship ya and stuff
Aside from Psalms 37:10, Matt 5 ( meek inherit the earth) and The Revelation Great Crowd discussion, they have nothing to prove that "most" christians have a hope of less importance than a minority of them that have prestige...at least in a spiritual sense.

WITNESSES AND 'FALSE RELIGION'
by Mary ini thought of something after reading pioneer spirit's thread about the un debacle and their dub father's justification of it and he brought up a point i hadn't thought of before.
he said that jesus "...went into the temple and synagogues even tho he knew they were false religion....".
yes, jesus condemned the pharisees and what their religion had become, but as ps's father pointed out, jesus still went into the temples and synagogues.. so then my question is: why aren't witnesses allowed to go into other churches, even thought they "know" they're false religion?
-

Yes, Jesus condemned the Pharisees and what their religion had become, but as PS's father pointed out, Jesus still went into the temples and synagogues.
Yes....jesus was a jew.....and so was Paul yet a Roman citizen. Paul went to Ephesus and to the Greek temple. He went inside and commented about the statues he saw. He made comparisons to Artemus and to his god with real eyes, ears, and a mouth who could speak. In doing this he turned the Greek and Roman world upside down because he preached to the Pagans who Christianised.......yet dubs will not do the same.
