I heard 'Church of Christ' doesn't use microphones nor have electric instuments in their songs they sing because the bible doesn't mention anything about the early christians using these things........does anyone know if this is true?

The Anchor Bible renders it "not on a zigzag course." If you saw a set of footprints that meanders up and down the beach, circles around now and then, and even goes backward at times, you would hardly think the person was running at all, let alone that he had any idea where he was heading. But if you saw a set of footprints that form a long, straight line, each footprint ahead of the previous one and all evenly spaced, you would conclude that the footprints belong to one who knows exactly where he is going".

Help me understand God's will

i have put the following scripture list together to .
help myself (and maybe others) in discussing what gods will is.. .

Gods will is that all people should be saved ( have eternal life), yet it's funny how the bible shows the road is narrow that leads to life......so the question arises, " if god wills something, then why doesn't it materialize"? If he's truely god, then he should be able to accomplish his own will.
I equate that with a parent's will for their children to lead productive and happy lives by making good choices - but as we know, that doesn't always happen. Children, for the most part, are a product of the consequences of their choices, even though the wishes of the parents are quite different. God truly is God in that he doesn't violate one of the fundamental 'laws' of this life - free will (choice). What's the point of learning in this life if we were 'forced' to do God's will?
If we as parents knew for sure that our child my die a horrible death, or suffer from a horrible disease, would we chhose to have this child/children? God knows everything. God wills or desires or wants all creation to be happy and praise him, yet he knew from the gitgo how we'd end up and he STILL set the words into motion..."let us create man". Btw....how ya doing Double Edge....ya old bastard

not that we are close friends now, but when we were witnesses in the 1990's, we were friends with him and his wife.
they had three children, all fully grown now, and had been married about thirty years.

anyone feeling a wee bit guilty about celebrating Thanksgiving and Xmas??
by Star Moore ini was feeling a bit guilty about celebrating as this is my 1st year out and i know the history of all the holidays and birthdays are pagan or bloody or idolatrous.. .
but i was thinking that it's not what someone made them in the past but what they are right now.. to us, at this moment.
am i going to sit down on thanksgiving.. and say, "i hate those indians, think i'll go kill some"..????
