"Let the woman keep silent"

lately on jwd there have been a number of posts regarding the state of woman in the jw organization.

one lady asks sisters for their thoughts and comments on male dominance over their lives.

i am not a sister but for quite a few years this subject has been on my mind, but i never spoke my thoughts, always waiting for someone else to come up with a clearer explanation of bible texts that seem to indicate that christian woman should keep their mouths shut.. where to start?

The bottom line is, jews regard women as do the muslims. Ever hear of a woman hero in the bible? Ever hear of a woman being the firstborn in the bible? Ever hear of a woman being the first out of ANY womb in the bible? Noahs wives had no names and they were the mothers to all creation. It seems the only honor given to a woman was rahab.......and that was because she protected men......although she was a whore. Promiscuous women are called whores in the bible.....but there's not a title for promiscuous men. Far be it from Jehovah to have created Eve first, then Adam.

it must be rearranged to fit our commonly agreed standards.. if we do take the whole of it and rearrange the structure without dropping any of the molecules (word forms) a thought can be communicated.. 1.wholeness, in and of itself, is not useful when communication according to a standard is sought.. 2.in order to pull data out of a whole structure (such as the top box) we must isolate the elements and rearrange them.

if we find a pattern we must further apply standards of logic in order to derrive sense.. 3. the wow!

Society laying the groundwork for "new light"?

in the january 1 2007 wt, there is the following quote in one of the articles regarding the "first resurrection" (there are a few other posts on that article already):.

it seems that resurrected ones of the 24 elders group may be involved in communicating of divine truths today.. this may be the most significant sentence in the article (haven't read it in its entirety yet).

i don't recall seeing anything like it in print before.. seems to be laying the groundwork for a "flash of new light", to be exposed probably whenever the last of the 3 old-timers hanging on (barr, barber, jaracz) drop off:.

Yes, 'ol Charlie has gone into retirement and has gone into the fulltime wheat harvesting work cuz he still takes the scripture literally about the fields being ripe for harvesting.......plus him and Joe Rutherford got into a fist fight right in front of Jesus and Charlie kicked Joe in the nutsack and got a 40 year "time out" from acting as a king.

Not to rain on anyones parade.......but the idea that the annointed MIGHT direct matters on earth in the New System isn't a new idea and has been discussed before in past Watchtower study articles......but I don't have a clue as to where it was stated. I remember a picture in one Watchtower where various presidents were shown from Russell to Fred Franz and the article spoke about ones such as these "ruling from heaven". After all, they do believe these ones will rule as 'kings over the earth'.

Jesus said the Holy Spirit would teach his diciples when he left the earth.......but we all know they put little importance on that scripture.

far be it from the jehovah's witnesses to talk out of both sides of their mouth.. far be it from jehovah's witnesses to doublespeak.. below is a perfect example of how gods chosen channel of truth has evidently forgotten what they previously stated in the "watchtower" which is their gods own publication for dispensing bible based truths to mankind.. .

"at times explanations given by jehovah's visible organization have shown adjustments, seemingly to previous points of view.

I Want To Know The "Truth"

there are many people on the earth who think they have the truth.

just look at how many religions there are who think they have the truth.

How do you make yourself believe any of this stuff without some real proof?

I would venture to say that very few, if any, believe 100% of what they claim they believe.....especially witnesses.

It takes faith to believe in something your not 100% sure of and faith is something that isn't actually beheld by an individual. If I was starving on a deserted island and had exausted my search for food and someone told me to have faith that food would eventually be provided to me, then faith would be my only option.... wouldn't it? One option that isn't fullproof isn't really a good option.....is it now?

Ken, everytime you post stuff like this it just reminds me that no matter how old we get in life......we'll still have unanswered questions in life....and just maybe that's the way any creator we might have wants it. When we have all the answers, we search for another something that doesn't so far have any answers.
