  2006 SERVICE REPORT - Feb 1, 2007 WT

  i'm not sure if anyone's posted this yet, but here are the figures for the 2006 service report.

  i highlighted the countries that have either a "0" or negative growth in yellow and i highlighted key countries where the you would expect more growth......i tried looking for england's stats, but i couldn't see it.

  i looked under "england" and "united kingdom" but i can't see it.

  Considering the fact that, as detailed above, the average publisher spends about eight months in service a month, another way of looking at this is that only one in 1,638 publishers brought someone into the religion; or, alternatively, that it took 1,638 people to convince one person to join. Or that there was only one new person for every 16 congregations (give or take).

  ......and this this preaching work is under angelic direction guided by Jehovah's spirit.

  If ANY buisness or company had this poor of a growth, they'd have closed their doors a long time ago......but when those inside continue to financially support a dead horse it can continue to operate.

  The witnesses slam the mormons and claim they do not have Jehovah guiding them, yet they prosper over the witnesses and ONLY have missionaries on 10 speed bicycles that pale in number to witness preachers.

  Either Jehovah and the angels are busy smoking crack, or there only handfulls of "rightously disposed" people left on the planet and it's these ones who become witnesses.........just like in Noahs day.

  All in all the figures are pretty dismal. They spent 1,333,966,199 hours preaching, yet the average number of publishers---which is the religions goal to increase----only increased by just over 100,000 from 2005's report.

  ....and out of how many congregations? What a joke!

  At yesterdays meeting I was looking at all of the publishers sitting there and thought about the fact that in the 12 years I've been away, there was 2 new publishers and once again I realised what a waste of time people spend in this unproductive religion. Keep in mind that I also realised that there was more than 2 publishers that had quit coming to meetings anymore and that there were 3 others there that were DFed since I had left. I also realised that in the last 3 to 4 months that I have been going back, there are about a third who have NEVER commented nor been on the school. 7 publishers were listening in by phone and only one of them is handicapped.

  From this early beginning it is no wonder that women feel rather invisible and second rate among this group.
  
  And also no wonder, within their marriages, JW men and women hone this attitude which leads to unhappiness and marital discord.

  Anewme.....very well stated.

  If you read a current publication it would encourage men to treat their wives as a 'weaker vessel' and open the car door for them or any other door, yet in this older publication in a different era says to not even tip your hat to a woman.

  Here this organisation speaks of Jehovah guiding it, yet various decades have various teachings and attitudes within it.....go figure.

  You guys gotta remember....this was written by an alcoholic who's wife hated him and he never got any nookie so he figured he'd just demonize the ladies since he was never gonna get lucky. You could bow before and show respect to a king, but don't open the door for your wife or act like a gentleman for gods sake.

  The women make monkeys or dupes of men. The men have become effeminate, soft and easily influenced, and have lost their real manhood and sturdiness in the affairs of state and home. For instance, when men are sitting at a table and a woman approaches, all the men arise and pay her homage and thereby elevate her to a place above men. The men remove their hats upon entering an elevator, if a woman is present; and these things are said to be acts of respect and to show that a man is a gentleman. But it is subtle, and the real meaning is much different from that. It is a scheme of Satan to turn men away from God and from his announced rule of the proper position of man and woman. The Lord has declared that no effeminate man shall inherit the kingdom of heaven. (1 Cor. 6:9) This proves that the scheme or habit of paying homage to women is not of God, but from the great enemy of God. It is a veneer of being a proper thing, and therefore it is more subtle than otherwise.

  THE BACK PEDDLING HAS ALREADY BEGUN......

  as i mentioned before in another thread, my dub aunt, along with several other witnesses, told me that they were specifically told that the governing body let it be known that tract work would trigger the beginning of the end by infuriating the other religions and somehow causing the governments to "turn on babylon the great".

  this was supposed to start before the end of this year.

  one thing i mentioned is that they were smart enough this time, not to put anything down in writing, but simply let it get around by "word of mouth".

  I'm like Gary and wasn't aware of it till I was leaving a convention and some apostates were holding up signs across the street that said

  ..."Jesus is not your Mediator" and it quoted which Watchtower that it was stated in. I wasn't offended when I read the article because their explanation made sense to me at that time. I was content that he was at least my 'High Priest'.

  this thread is the result of a coversation i had with a devout christian friend..i was trying to define what the jehovah`s witness religion really was..my best definition was:"jehovah`s witness`s are a non-christian,christian cult.
