WTS Ruling on Visiting Churches. What is it These Days?

hi folks .

i'm sure this subject has been discussed over and over again but i've still managed to miss it.

what is the current ruling on jws attending church services?

Hey Clamster buddy, how are ya? Been visiting the house of the whore I see? Bad Clam, bad bad bad!!!

The whole day went very well as we were determined to make it a 'celebration of life' and not be morbid.

I just attended a friends mothers funeral at the hall and it was depressing as all other dub meetings are. All it did was put down this system of Satans and reminded witnesses that oneday the earth will be filled with happy doorknockers once the rest of mankind is slaughtered. I get so damn sick of literature in my home in which EVERY SINGLE cover of a magazine is depressing and negative.

Bizzarely my JW Bro-in-Law asked me the following day about the church and spoke about how amazing it was.

Good for him!!! Most witnesses are shocked when they find out that these places aren't full of demons swarming thru the place. We visited a beautiful Catholic church in Mexico once and I was also astounded at the work and beauty of the place. Witnesses seem to think if they visit a church while they are in another country and on vacation it somehow negates what is said about visiting churches. Dumb asses.

Chihuahua's remind me of a little, frail mexican man. Always shakin and shivering.

I own a boxer but that's not a small dog....so....when she dies, I'm going for a boston terrier because they are like a boxer to me. Plus their funny and make you laugh.

Does God REALLY exist? (An Attempt at an Online Bible Study)

with the global village now teaching evolution as an absolute fact, and the 'creation museum' making a mockery of the bible, any bible study should begin with this question!

however, the biggest hinderence to learning truth is clinging to concepts we've accepted as 'truth' without being willing to take a closer look at other possibilities.. i ask that ridiculers have fun on other postings, so that it might be possible to enjoy comparing what we have learned, how we see things- and also share what we have found to be facts-truth!.

(and i will not "count the time", as promised; that's unimportant to me, anyhow!).

The only reason that a great many religious people believe that ethics cannot exist without Tooth Fairy religion is that their religious teachers tell them so, and they gulliby believe it. It doesn't have to be this way.

It doesn't have to be that way but it is that way and will be that way, until mankinds old way of thinking is buried by believable science when mankind finally becomes aware of it's findings........which just might take awhile longer than our lives will see.

The only explainable way humans have had to go on in understanding how life began until modern methods and findings came along as well as those born who were not afraid to speak out against orthodoxy accepted beliefs, was that god(s) did it......rather than the notion that there was no conscience and moral entity behind it all.

it's official; they read the letter tonight that puts forth the new procedure.

if you find an expelled person in the field or are studying with one, you are no longer permitted to give them lit.

presumably the elders make a decision if an expelled one is regularly attending meetings, but only they can give them lit.

ADVANCE MEDICAL DIRECTIVE sheet on Blood----Check it Out

i'm not sure if this has been posted before, but i acquired this 'points to consider' about what a dub is willing to accept or not accept when it comes to blood.

as per usual, it appears that they've purposely made this very confusing and they're speaking out both sides of their mouth.

on page 1, it seems one of the options is using your own blood: "...during the course of a surgical operation, i accept all medical procedures involving the use of my own blood except...".

Don't be so sure. This is typical Bethel jargon: they screw up and blame it on the R&F. They did the same damn thing after 1975. No, this is being done to intentionally confuse people. And many of them will decide err on the side of caution rather than do something that might cost them everlasting life.

Your right Mary in that the society uses confusion on the R&F. I believe they do this to save their own asses from the blunders they have made and so to keep lawsuits down, to keep the R&F complying with their doctrines, to keep from being exposed in the media, to keep doubts from entering the minds in the R&F, they confuse to the point that the publishers just swallow without hesitation what is fed to them.

How hard would it be to make it very clear to the publishers just EXACTLY what the directives are concerning the blood issue? If the publishers are actually losing their lives over confusion....why not make the blood issue and all it's policies a MAIN STUDY ARTICLE for the Sunday Watchtower Study? Why print these directives in a KM and usually only once? What's the chances that ALL dubs will read this or even be at the meeting in which this was discussed?

Anytime the society is guilty over a particular dogma they have set forth for the publishers to follow and they finally realise it was a mistake, they correct it in some subtle way so as not to draw any attention to themselves and leaving the poor publishers to fend for themselves in figuring out on their own what the hell it is that the society expects of them, and then when the publishers fail to figure out what that is and they suffer for it, the society says....."well, we told you what to do, why didn't you listen".

They are chickenshit liars and always will be.

Can you imagine some 75 year old brother or sister reading this crap and trying to figure out 'what Jehovah wants them to do?'

They had a part at the meeting on that very thought.

They said to MAKE SURE you understand all the directives from the society as many needlessly have lost their lives in not doing so. I was shocked actually that the brother used that term, however I'm sure it wasn't in his outline and he was just a typical illiterate janitor who barely graduated.

I'd have to agree with you there Juni. I remember when you went off because you couldn't post a pic and you just said "ah f#%ck it"!

You ALSO used to think you had to dismiss yourself if you were leaving the board for even a short time such as saying "gotta go now, I have to vacuume"...or something similar..LOL

I'm glad those pills I sent you in the mail worked and changed your personality though, your much more pleasant. The pills didn't work for me anyways because I don't use that thing anymore. Stupid Viagra anyways

They were always going on about how those in countries where the work was banned had to be at one meeting to know where the next would be.

The old bastards have never mentally moved with technology and are so old fashioned they seem to forget witness now actually have something called a cell phone in which you can actually communicate with another person miles away I used to get so mad everytime they'd tell us we needed to be at the meetings because it might be the meeting in which we'll find out where to meet the next time if things really get tough. Good Lord, how damn hard could it be to find out fer gods sake?

So now they have a Wednesday morning study catering to older people, 2nd and 3rd shifters, etc., AND
one on Thursday night in the main auditorium, and NOW this one that will be moved to the library/second school.

Is this a trend?

They have been doing this for quite some time. Our congregation has a book study at the hall on Saterday mornings for those who have to work late shifts during the week and for older ones. After the study they go out in service. What a lovely way to start the weekend after a long week at work eh?

I thought the same thing. Just yesterday I was at the docs office and saw two in the magazine rack in the waiting room. I darn near took them out and trashed the bastards but I figured with my luck, the receptionist would catch me and just happen to be a witness who recognized me, she'd turn my arse in and I'd be disfellowshipped again.
