In high school we always told or got told stories about how the theater was haunted. I mostly thought it was seniors screwing with the freshmen
The sounds are similar...LOL

JW's and Alien Life
by 67mustang ini would like to know if anybody feels there is life on other planets.
jw's typically say no, but that seems arogant, the universe is ridiculously huge.
maybe god created tons of life and we are the only ones that turned, we were therefore cut off and became limited to our 10% brain power while they continued to advance.

I've heard of some wild STORIES from ones on bible studies who's houses were supposedly demonized.
One story told of the couch floating in the air that the study was sitting on and a voice coming from her to the dub......."get out of here"
My grandmother when she was alive said her dead son(my uncle) used to come and sit on the edge of the bed occationally, and talk to her to tell her everything was all right.
I personally don't feel this is so.

N.H. Supreme Court upholds conviction of man who sexually abused girl
CONCORD, N.H. (AP) The state Supreme Court on Tuesday upheld the conviction of a Bible-quoting man who sexually abused a young girl, starting when she was 4 years old and ending when she was 10.
Paul Berry, 46, was convicted of 17 counts of aggravated felonious sexual assault two years ago. He was sentenced to 56 to 112 years in prison, possibly the longest sentence ever given for sexual assault in the state.
Berrys appeal said the trial judge should not have allowed evidence that he also physically abused and tortured the girl. The judge allowed the evidence to be introduced to explain why the girl waited until she was 17 to report the abuse.
Berry also said the trial judge should have allowed testimony by two defense witnesses who would have said the girl had a reputation for lying when she was a young child.
The judge said the testimony represented only the opinions of a few people and it had no bearing on whether the girl was telling the truth years later, when she reported the abuse to police.
The Supreme Court said the girl "believed, during the years she was sexually assaulted, that she was destined to live in constant fear and that the assaults were never gonna end."
The assaults included Berry hanging the girl by her wrists from hooks on a barn wall and, on another occasion, tying her to a tree, according to court records. The girl testified that Berry, a Jehovahs Witness, quoted Scriptures while forcing her to perform sex acts. She also said he struck her and threatened her so she would not tell her mother.
"The physical beatings and verbal threats ... explained why (the girl) became resigned to her fate as a victim of repeated sexual assault. It also explained her belief that reporting the abuse would be futile, thereby giving context to her delay in reporting the assaults," Justice Joseph Nadeau wrote for the court.
The high court also ruled that Judge Arthur Brennan had the discretion to exclude the testimony of two defense witnesses.
"The witnesses testimony was based upon the opinions of a small circle of children and their parents. The trial court found that this community was not of significant size and the evidence, therefore, was unreliable," the court ruled.

WHAT'S THE WORSE THING YOU DID AT THE MEETING?
by Mary ini would have to say the worst (aka: funniest) thing i ever did at a meeting was when i sat with the circuit overseer and his wife (many moons ago......) .
anyway, he was really prim and proper and she was of course, a very submissive wife who barely spoke without her husbands permission.
anyway, he goes to the platform and starts off by asking th audience: who was ahab?

When I was first married and moved to arizona from southern calif. and very young hearted, I put a fake rubber rattlesnake on top of the bookbag of a sister in front of us at the meeting. The song hadn't started yet and I knew when we stood to sing she would reach in her bookbag. Well..........she screamed......real loud...I got real embarrased............and her and her husband pretty much hated my guts after that.

Does power corrupt?
by sleepy in.
most of the people i knew as witnesses were nice people with genuine motives.. in fact those with obvious personnallity flaws, would not , in my congregation anyway , be made servants or elders.. but i wonder did the postion attained in the org actually change the people who were chosen?.
does the extra respect , power and aurthority over others cause changes in a person makeup they can not help?.

If there is a god, if it wants a relationship w people, it would do it on an individual basis. Orgs would only mess it up.
So well said SS. I agree 100%
