If Jehovah was ACTUALLY present at one of their meetings.....and they all heard his voice.....I think you would see all the GB flying out of the room like a bunch of ninty year old chickens with dementia. All the suppresed guilt would scare the hell out of them.

DO YA MISS "THE SWEET FELLOWSHIP"?
by minimus inone of the major reasons that a disfellowshipped or disassociated person has for coming back to "jehovah's organization" is that perhaps they will miss the "sweet fellowship".
after hearing comments regarding the km article on how to treat disfellowshipped ones, i must wonder why anyone of sound mind would think a disfellowshipped person would miss anything from the organization.
viewing persons as "dead" while out of the organization would not make one feel anxious to return to jehovah's loving arrangement through the organization.whoever coined the term about missing "the sweet fellowship" was pretty clever.

Xena....I wouldn't say they weren't REAL FRIENDS. They put their religious devotion ahead of friends because to them it is a life or death situation. They feel it is in your BEST interest to do what they are supposed to do. I'm sure they still love you and wish they COULD talk to you.

Sounds as though you still wonder about many things regarding the Borg. I was told it can take several years to shake it off......in many area...much longer.
I miss all my friends....they were all I knew my whole life......and I miss them, I want to call them.You know what? I was wondering how much response I would get if I called some of my old buddies. Perhaps they would be glad to hear from me .
If I do....I better do it before the August KM is covered.

Is the death penalty effective in usa?

im asking this because lately in the uk 2 girls were murdered that were only 12 yrs old and now 59% population of the uk want the death penalty reinstated.. i assume you already have the death penalty in the usa, but do you think it is effective reducing 1st degree murder and potential child molesters,would you like to see the death penalty removed in the united states or not.. i wonder if the death penalty will be reinstated in the uk what do you think, personally i dont think it will maybe the politicians are afraid they wont get as many votes.

Last time I checked......those that were put to death for the mentioned crimes.........never did it again! Oh ya....it works.
An older sister from Yugoslavia we used to take to the meeting....told us how they used to hang those charged for rape. They did it so the towns people could see. They had pretty much........no rape where they practiced this.
Criminals have no fear anymore of commiting crime because penalties are not severe enough.

As far as my hope.....I don't have a clue at the time.
I believe in God, greatly question the Bible(real greatly) and can't figure out since there appears to be a loving God......why isn't he loving in protecting us from any harm?
Please ,don't any start with bible reasons.....I've heard them all.

That there would be a slave class on earth at all times from Pentecost untill the end.....each class feeding the next. I don't recall the scripture they got that from?

What this board has done...
by Dawn inwhat this board has done..............for me.. i've only dropped in intermittently over the past month or so - and thought maybe now would be an appropriate time to point out some of the things i have gleaned from being here over the past year.. for several years after being df'd i still had that nagging thought - "what if it is the truth...what if i just have a bad heart...what if my kids die at armageddon because of me, what if, what if...".
i was still in chains.

by Deli King inhaving served as an elder before resigning i can understand why 'christendom's' ministers are full time.
you have to find the balance between, family, work, preparing for meetings (including non public meetings), rest, self study, field service, and i'm sure i left some items out.
this is extremely difficult if you truly want to do a good job.

Remember long ago when a man would read the bible with his family and that was good enough?
He worked and came home to his family. Many poor marriages exist because of the time a man spends as an elder. Some have good ones...but it's tough....too tough!
I suppose many other religious functions such as a group minister could burn his wife out too......but....the dubs take the lead in my book!

by ozziepost inan intriguing aspect of the child abuse scandal among jehovah's witnesses is why don't the wts want these offenses reported in the first instance to the police?
why is it that other offenses, such as fornication, adultery or theft, are dealt with publicly and usually swiftly, why is the matter of child abuse treated differently?
why is it that the borg's procedures ensure that the crimes against silent lambs are kept hidden from the authorities?

The above offences are not treated differently if the accused denies these offences.
If there is no PROOF, and the accusation is denied..... the case is treated the same.
Child abuse is kept more hidden by the dubs because of the SEVERE NATURE of this, and the bad light that is given to the borg. This sin brings the media into the picture where as the other sins you mentioned ...do not.....for the most part.
