  I Am Worried

  i'm pretty new here so forgive me if this has been discussed and i just haven't found it.. i read so many comments about how the wt is tightening its grip on the dubs.

  i read a lot of comments about "kool-aid" and the impending demise of the wt and all the scandals.

  i am becoming worried about my dub family.

  Thank you for all of your replies. I've been out so long that all the newer developments seem shocking to me. It seems ridiculously more restrictive than I remember, but memories do cloud facts, don't they? Those of you who are closer to it would know better than I if it's actually becoming so destructive that there's impending doom. Thank you for easing my fears.

  There were two families with children. They always sat in the front row. Their children had learned that going to the bathroom was the only way to escape the meeting. They went to the bathroom 10-12 times per meeting. No joke. There was constant traffic from the front row back to the bathrooms and back. I always wanted to buy them corks.

  A woman I used to go to church with was preparing to do housework and stopped to go potty. While sitting on the toilet with the bathroom door open, she leaned over to get a new roll of toilet paper. A glimmer of light caught her eye and she saw her diamond stud earring lying in the carpet in the hallway. She was so happy! She'd been praying to God, while she sat on the toilet, to help her find her earring and He did! And if her husband had replaced the roll of toilet paper, she'd never have leaned over and never seen the glimmer of light and....the earring would have been sucked up into the sweeper when she swept the carpets! So, God used her husband's thoughtless, selfish ways to help her find her earring!

  Yes, this is a true story told by a total ditz at women's Bible study. (I'm not the ditz. Can't afford diamond stud earrings.)

  Hello, All -

  I'm pretty new here so forgive me if this has been discussed and I just haven't found it.

  I read so many comments about how the WT is tightening its grip on the Dubs. I read a lot of comments about "kool-aid" and the impending demise of the WT and all the scandals. I am becoming worried about my Dub family.

  Do you think it's probable that there could really be a "kool-aid" moment where the GB decides that, instead of waiting on the tribulation and Armageddon, it's time to "rescue" the remaining believers from this system of things? It seems they're getting almost panicky. Given that the new light is coming so quickly that the light is flickering on and off, it seems the GB is unable to keep a tight grip on the members. I don't think the GB would allow themselves to lose complete control.

  Is paranoia within the GB escalating to the point that it could lead to a tragic climax?

  Believe it or not, the Catholic Church teaches that Christ was raised bodily and that everyone's body will be resurrected and reunited with their soul at some point. Jesus' body was material and he could eat and be touched, yet he could pass through walls. It was different from the bodies we have now but was still a body, as even the NWT says, and enough like our current bodies that he didn't stand out. JWs think they're the only ones who preach a resurrection of the body. They're wrong.

  I Miss My Mother

  she died of leukemia four years ago because, you know, she didn't want to have blood transfusion.

  when she died, i didn't cry at all, though she died with my right hand on her chest.

  Pioneer Spit- Kathy! I didn't know my sister was visiting this board! How ya doin'? Seriously, my mom's not a pioneer but otherwise must be your mom's twin.

  My mother has an inoperable brain tumor. I'm glad it's inoperable because I know she would refuse blood. She's a total b---h but I still love her. Once, one of my brother's was in a car accident and they thought he may have punctured his kidney and wanted to give him blood. My mother refused. My dad (not a Dub) resisted so the nurses asked my barely conscious brother, who was 19, if he would accept blood and he went along with Momma. They told my dad, then, that he didn't have a say. Fortunately, my brother survived. They sent the bill to my dad and then called to collect the money. He told them that, according to them, he didn't have a say, so don't call him for the cash, either.
