I was not totally ignorant,like Junction Guy I asked lots of questions,especially about the really silly stuff,like the prophecies in Daniel being fulfilled by some fartass assembly at Cedar Point Ohio,but I was naive enough to think that they had the bulk of the"truth".I was a born in so it took a lot to open my eyes.I kick myself daily for being such a twunt.

the reason i ask is because my mother mentioned that i need to get my advance directives in order and be sure to keep the no blood card on me at all times, blah blah blah, and do i need any help in getting it all organized.. .

i mentioned to her that i don't need any help, i worked in the healthcare field for a long time.

I am a Willwriter,by trade, here in the U.K and I don't know about the law in the U.S of etc. and I am shakey on other countries law, but here you do not really have legal rights over your ashes or body,but if you write a proper will,and appoint a strong Executor who will carry out your wishes it would be highley unusual if you did not get what you want,but it is VITAL that you set out your wishes in a proper legal Will.

i was just thinking about how good we have it compared to the "apostates" of the past.

back in the day there was no support system like there is here on jwd.

you couldn't just sit down to your computer and find scores of people feeling the same way you do.

It was certainly a boost to me to realise that I was far from alone or unique and people were seeing the BS in exactly the same way as me. I feel we must respect those like dear Ray Franz who were very much alone in the eighties,what a brave man and still helping people to not just break free but to rebuild too. 607bce or 586/587 bce ? which is it?

ok this is very difficult for me because i just started studing this question.

what i would like to know is what have you decided from your studies and does anyone know the statistics on how many beleive in the 607 dat and how many beleive in the 586/587 date.. the watchtower likes to say they agree with the 607 because that number is based on the bible when the 586/587 is based on secular history.. from what ive read so far the mojority thinks it to be 586/587 because most searches ive done give me that date.. what have you come up with in your research?

i feel like you almost need to be a scholar to figure this out.

It really dosn't matter,as the starting point for the WT twaddle is Daniel Chapter 4,where it mentions 7 times or years affecting the King with madness,the fulfillment is given in that same chapter as literal 7 times(or years) .Nowhere in scripture is the concept of 2,520 years to be found. End of(1914)story.

Your thoughts on Wicca?

somebody who's become a friend is an ex catholic....pretty knowledgeable on all the mainstream christian doctrines and history etc....now into wicca beliefs....not a actual member, but in tune with the ideas....mediation, incense, being close to the earth yada yada.

not real wound up with it, not pushing it on me.....and theres no way i would ever go there.....just not my style, and think i am over any organized religion at this point.. a good friend, good person.....he cant really explain why he's into all that except it feels good....but i'm a little uncomfortable.....sad to say i think it's a holdover from the jw fear and loathing of anything remotely "demonic"......i'm a good researcher, and in 15-20 minutes on the internet i know i could dig up all the lowdown on wicca beliefs/practices/history etc.....and i know without looking it up that its all just a made-up job like so many other groups we know.....but i hold back because i'm afraid if i knew more i'd feel really uncomfortable with my friend.....i know, i know that's so lame....lol.

just wondering if any of you have any experience with the wicca thing, and what you think about all that.

'Paradise Earth' makes absolutely no sense!

will babies of baptized jws also be in the new system?

if not, how could the child's parents consider it 'paradise' without their children?
