that it's okay for there to be no "other place" to go to.

once you realize that there doesn't have to be one right religion that one must be a part of, but that life is blessedly filled with imperfect ways and people who all have a little bit of truth, then you find that you can leave with peace of mind.

(that doesn't make it any easier to be shunned and lose family, but at least inside yourself you're not filled with a gnawing fear of your own decision.

The "But where would we go?" question is typical Dub propaganda and Scripture twisting.

So the answer to Dubs is "where to? You could do worse than go to Jesus"

I do agree though that a religion is not necessary,proof of that is first centuary Jewish Christians,they didn't have to leave their religion,they simply put faith in Jesus as the Messiah.

Organized Religions are made by men to dominate men and ALL contain some error. Most Christian faiths contain less error than Jehovah's Witnesses.

Why would ALMIGHTY god need a Flood?

leaving out all the obvious problems with a global flood,why would almighty god need a flood at all,with its attendant problems of gathering animals and building arks etc.when he obviously had the power just to destroy the "wicked" and just leave noah and family alive.. after all he destroyed just the first born in egypt (what had they done to offend him?

) so why not just snuff out who he wants to,why a flood?.

i was cleaning off a book shelf and saw a copy of examining the scriptures daily for 2005. was about to throw it away, but opened it, and this is what popped up for 6-11.... i remember discussing this about 5 years ago on the forum after the wt article of 12/15/03, but it still amazes me.

it's obvious that the society was hinting that the end would have to come by 2034, 120 years from 1914... "only 120 years more and jehovah would bring "the deluge of waters upon the earth to bring to ruin all flesh in which the force of life is active from under the heavens.

" (gen. 6:17) when noah was informed, he wisely used the time to prepare for survival.

The problem they have with any new date they come up with is, 1914 has been totally discredited so what do they hang their new date on?

I don't think they ever learn though,the many many false dates of the past prove this,so expect lots more wacky end-time stuff soon,to spur on the preaching work (Ponzi Scheme)

Jehovah inspires the writing of talk outlines.

although the wt claim they are not inspired.

there is a crazy undercurrent, that i've always just took for granted, that many of the bros and sis's think they actually are inspired.

we recently had a statement in a public talk that "jehovah saw fit to have the governing body put this <whatever it was> in this outline".

I know what you mean,sometimes a speaker would say "this is not what I say but let me read to you what the outline says Blah bla h blah"

as though that gave the scripture twisting ,mind controlling load of Bull Ca Ca extra weight,or was EQUAL to Scripture.

as we say here in the U.K What a load of Bollocks!

The apologist who attacks Ray has been discredited on other threads,but at the risk of repeating,why wait till now to bring up any objection to C.O.C? (The objection is minor anyway)

If you HAD found one factual error,which our apologist ( I think he IS a Witless by the way despite his protestations)might label a lie,so what? Ray is imperfect.,he says so.

If you can then cast doubt on the rest of what he says where does that leave the WTBS? we can show where they have lied time and time again!!!!

Red Red Wine

i've been trying red wine the last few weeks or so.

i have acid reflux and it messed (any wine really) with my tummy.

now i take nexium and my tummy is great.

I suffer from acid re-flux and find that white wines seem harsher on the stomach,reds, not a problem,I find that you get what you pay for at the lower end,and it's worth a few dollars more for a good red.(If you go too high in price you are sometimes just paying for the rarity rather than quality)

i was thinking about slimboyfat's topic about the void of not having a meeting to go to on tuesday nights.

I felt EXACTLY that way,from the age of seven,for fifty years I was a preacher,door to door,street(before street work was pushed,at one time I was the only one in my congo on the street) and informally.

I felt guilt at not doing it at first,I found myself though pleased to say what I did now believe in to Mormons etc.that I came in contact with.

At present I feel no guilt with my position of "always ready to give a reason for my faith" but rarely actually doing so, apart from to my Wife who is starting a fade.

I can count my time with her though coz she is an unbaptised apostate.
