Did other Brothers critisize you for your "meterial things." My big T.V!
by Witness 007 ina brother from bethel saw i had bought myself a big screen t.v {80cm tube 1996} this was the best t.v at the time.
{i always wanted one} he stared for some time, and mentioned in passing that he never watched television at all.
and that this could be slowing down my ministry.

Have you heard or tried the Health E Cigarette...tell me what you think...
by FreedomFrog ini was browsing e-bay and came across a product called health e cigarette.... this captures my attention since i'm trying to stop smoking.
i've been trying to quit with a cigarette brand called quest and i'm on level 1 at the moment.
it still has the unhealthy carcinogens but each level brings down the nicotine and hopefully by the 3 and last stage, the person can break the habit.. with the e cigarette, it's supposed to do the same except it only has nicotine and no tar/carcinogens and other harmful stuff.

Ever notice this at the Memorial.....
by Iwonder17 inyou can always tell your rank as a brother at the memorial by the following:.
parking lot attendant = just doing enough to have the boe remember your name.
outside attendat = you smell pretty bad and you embarrass the boe.

my ex husband was such a dope. the BOE would never ever use him for anything...he was considered spritually weak. but whenever the CO would come for a visit they would ask him to carry the mic. I tried to tell him that they had no intention on ever appointing him for anything but he fell for the okey doke everytime. Soon as the CO left it was back to the same ole same.

I'm on chantix and so far it's working. You choose a quit date and continue to smoke until your quite date. you start taking the medication and what it does is gradually you use loose the need to smoke. This thursday is my quit date.... and this past sunday every time i tried to smoke, the taste was sooo gross. the smell was horrible. so today i didnt smoke all day...until i got home.... i took a couple of pulls and had to put it out. Alot of people say that it worked for them.
i havent heard of the healthy E square though.

My Story - Part 2
by Jeremy C inlike many jw children, i was deeply influenced and motivated by watchtower society artwork depicting the new system of things.
i was profoundly influenced by artwork (particularly in the book: you can live forever in paradise on earth) that portrayed children petting tigers, playing with lion cubs, running through grassy fields with kites, and enjoying care-free lives.
what i now realized about myself is that for a jw to desire such things; and to go through the motions - performing organizationally-programmed activity in order to receive this reward; does not necessarily require a love for god or christ that is any deeper than other religionists.

wow!
i also studied the bible story book, great teacher book, the red book, and the blue book (the worship book).
even though the GT book was much older than the BS book, the FDS recommended that parents study with their children: BS first.. GT second.
i can't wait to read your next post.

I had the pleasure of meeting a young man at a party, He was so into the music...it was amazing watching him. He was so happy and free. At first I thought he had to be on drugs. But the people who knew him said that he was always like that when listening to music..it was like the music made him soooo happy.

when i first started school i was ready to defend the truth like true warrior. When I reached the 3rd grade I learned to shut up. I used to carry my bible story book around and try to preach to the kids at school and family members. The breaking point for me was when one of my male cousins told me to knock it off because i was irritating everyone.

My Story - Part 1
by Jeremy C ini have never posted my personal story about my years as a jw, and my departure from the organization.
i thought that my personal story might be of interest.
it is my hope that some of my experiences and observations might be of help to some of you who have recently left the organization.

The smurfs....
I had to spend my christmas break at a cousins house (non-JW) and she had a life sized smurf in the room where i had to sleep. I was terrified. But for some reason I didnt say anything i figured they would laugh at me. i expected it to move in the middle of the night. after a couple of nights i realized that the whole smurf thing was stupid.
