Wow. Absolutely phenomenal. You have a great talent. I can't wait for the next installlment, and I hope you don't edit yourself too much. Don't worry about the length, no matter how long your installlments, they seem to end too soon.

What I find logical about religion is the need for some people to make sense of the world around them. We are inquisitive beings by nature, and when we see things in our world that follow certain patterns, we would like answers.
I was going to comment on this thread, but I think the above is one of the most succinct explanations of religion I have ever seen, so I'll just second that. It is also a good description of science, and why eventually science will completely fill the role that religion once did (fingers crossed).

Did you know I am a SATANIST?
by Tired of the Hypocrisy inseveral months ago, my wife's drunken, wife abusing, bully of a jw uncle offered (we didn't ask...he offered, ok?
) to allow us to use some space on his property to store some things we had in a 10x10x8 storage unit we were paying for.
it sounded good since we are short of cash most of the time and it would only be for about 3-4 months.

Ha! Pickled, I love your questions! Utterly absurd, yet they would be perfectly logical considerations if their wacked out take on demons was at all accurate!
Tired: Maybe your demon can get together with the demon my wife said was causing my depression! (Funny, mine doesn't seem to come around that much since she moved out).

I was told I sound like an Apostate
by senora inso i'm in the process of ditching my jw friends and one of them tells me that i'm starting to sound like an apostate why??
because i'm going to yet another congregation and she feels that i should stay in one cogo to get established.
first of all i'm about to go into a foreign language congo wherein i speak half the language and want to be fluent in that language, but my real reason is....i don't want friends and family finding out about my fade so they won't start calling me and bugging me.

One thing she said is true - Apostasy does start with independent thinking. The term "independent thinking" is actually redundant - so far as I've been able to ascertain, all thinking must be independent. I don't know of any way to allow multiple people to think with my brain, so what's the alternative? Therefore you can leave the "independent" out of the statement: Apostasy starts with thinking.

I'm going, I put in an appearance every now & again so my friends that are still in can feel OK about hanging out with me. But I'm getting PLASTERED first! My new annual tradition. And hey, at least they're serving food and alcohol at this thing, right?

Atheists are a bunch of meanies...
by nvrgnbk inso i don't want to play anymore.. i'm taking my ball and going home.
my turn to rant.
jesus christ, burn.. if you have god almighty on your side, what's with all the frustration?.

Galileo
niether athiest nor believer will know which side is correct, until God comes down here and tells us, or not.
Well there you go. He has not. We win. This issue can be reopened for discussion when he does. Until then, I expect you and all the other theists to consider the matter closed, by your own logic.

Hypocritical makers of "Expelled" movie expel a biologist from theater
by Gopher init's almost too perfect.
myers, a biologist at the university of minnesota - morris, followed all the rules in order to attend a special screening of ben stein's new pro-intelligent design movie "expelled", but was expelled by the insecure makers of this movie!
even more ironic, myers was interviewed for and appeared in this movie.

"What surprised me is it is a really lousy film, even if you happen to agree with it," said Dawkins, who took advantage of a question-and-answer session after the screening to ask why Myers wasn't allowed in.
God I love Richard Dawkins.
