It's never in the best interest of a child to get the shit kicked outta them in the back of a kingdom hall, tell the kid their whole family is gonna die because God's gonna kill them, have the kid sit through hours of mind numbing rotten spiritual fruit, or make them feel like a freak because all the joy is drained from their life. Kids just want their grandparent's love, and this making "love" contingent on following a cult is spiritual abuse!

'Prepare for Banning' A HOAX! READ INSIDE
by ashitaka inmy friend called me last night and said that his mother heard a letter read on monday night at her congregation meeting that said that the rank and file should be prepared to be banned, to go underground, and persecution is coming soon, that halls would be taken, and such.
that these things are definitely coming soon.

present were a reporter and a photographer from the downey patriot newspaper.
while we were placing the lamb at the front door, an elder approached us and asked us why we were there.

My B/F told me he's a J/W after months of dating!
by Funky_Diva_53_2000 inhi, i'm 17 and i've just recently become a member of this website and i want you to know what has happened to me over the past months.back in sep/oct 2001 i started chatting to a 20 year old bloke via the internet and we developed a great friendship over the net.we would talk online for ages,text and phone each other loads,we sent each other photos of ourselves and he would often put his webcam on for me to see.before i knew it he played a great part in my everyday life...and i spent so much time chatting to him that my college work suffered a lot & i wasn't doing my coursework (i eventually got told to leave as i hadn't done loads of the assignments and stuff & had fallen behind).
after about 6 months we arranged to meet up (i made sure my parents were at home coz i know it's dodgy to meet people from the internet).anyway,he came round my house one evening in march and we got along soo well...he lives quite locally too which was good.our friendship then grew into a relationship and we started dating and going out together,i was sooo happy and i fell for him in a massive way & he said he felt the same way too.to me,he was a girls dream come true...he was kind,caring,fit,good-looking & gentle and i loved him to bits!,i still do,and i thought we'd be together forever.
something that i did find a bit strange though was i hadn't met his family yet or heard my boyfriend talk much about them.i would question him about his family but he seemed to get a bit funny about it and when i mentioned about meeting his family he said something along the lines of ''they're a bit strange,you might not like them'' (or something like that anyway).that got me thinking and i though prehaps they lived in a run-down place or something,or they wern't very nice people and i thought my b/f could be ashamed to let me meet them.i thought to myself to give him time & he'll see that i'm an understanding & nice person and hoped that he would soon come out and tell me what the problem was (thinking it was about what i've just mentioned).

why do people discriminate against people that have different color skin?
i understand it is a learned response, but my "elder" father is very racist... and this is how i was raised.. i don't get it.

I think NewWay & Gravedancer have the most insight into the subject. It is a more complex thing than to put little labels such as "ignorance", "fear", "hatred' on it & be correct. It is about culture and language. It is about the USA being founded by immigrants, Polish, Italian, German, Chinese, etc. who never asked the taxpayers to finance their assimilation & learning at least enough English to function. That is one reason the early immigrants successful and prosperous. It is about entering into a culture & not attempting to foist your own upon it. It is more about respect and appreciation of tradition.

Too wierd to be true... but it is... Elders???
by Lapuce inwell yesterday i go the visit of two elders of my congregation, my wife told them that i was acting like an apostat as i talked two days before to two mormons, yes i told them that that they were in a cult like the jw's and they couldn't think for themselves like us, boy i got a real sermon from them, my wife told them that i was on anti-depresants and that they made me ack a bit crazy sometimes, well i know one thing, it wont be the last time i will here from them.
i know 3 years ago i got a talk by the elders but that time it was for buying lotto tickets, again my wife found a ticket in my pocket that i forgot when i put my cholths for washing.
i got the talk, but no sanctions again.

thanks everyone, great posts allIwannado, & Farkel,I felt a need to start setting the record straight because they were on there acting like saints, whitewashing & lying big time, & trying to gain converts. I felt a need to call them on their rendition of what actually goes on. They went as far as saying "dfed people are treated the same, we just don't discuss spiritual things with them". when you post truth, & reality, it makes them furious! silentlambs posted also, & after some of them having much to say about him BEFORe he showed up, they all pretend not to see his post. I have tried to steer them right in here numerous times, but they said this is an "apostate site, twisted & untrue". I only wish they would start surfing in here, & see that they are not alone.

There are two places at delphiforums.com the jws were lying & trying to sound like they really had all the answers, etc. The Hot Spot, there is a topic called "let's discuss jws" with around 300 entries already, & then there's "All Christian Debate" where there are loads of topics to the left, & the jws were all over all of them, until someone got wise to the fact that they were using the entire wite as a stage to promote their beliefs.
I have been calmly stating reality, & this downstrike person took offense to a post where i told them when they tired of this behavior, we would be there for them. He has already said jw.com here is a twisted lying site. I put in my post links for some help for the 5 jws on there that are trying to get service time! I also told him there are elders on here that are still in but don't want to lose family & so we get their info. All of it. He said we are enjoying & ssensationalizing child molesters! I would appreciate anyone that would go there & reply to him.
I finally did reply to the insults and slander he directed at me. I asked him why he is so angry & hateful, & told him we would be there for him when he tired of this, i just hope he doesn't waste too much more time in the jws.
If everyone would go to delphiforums.com, into the Hot spot, into "let's discuss jws" shown at left, & look at one of the last 10 posts there, it is from this Downstrike character. You can also see just what he was replying to that angered him so much, an offer of support.
Also, if you ever have time, the jws are all over All Christian Debate, there arre like 5 of them. Two women are very active, & very good at twisting. Mindmelda from the Phillipines, & a woman named Jazz. These 3 scared everyone else off & I am trying to send in reality in many topics listed to the left, but could use help.
