Awesome! This is what I love to read, someone making something good out of their life! It shows anyone can do whatever they set their mind to & work hard for.

Simon and others: Inspiring Words and this Forum.
by Blueblades inthese inspiring words will remind you how to make your dreams come true.. "through confidence and perseverance comes the ability to succeed!".
many of you have proven that these words have inspired you to succeed in whatever endeavors you have chosen after having come out of the watchtower.. i have read simon's and many of your post's, where - in you have shown confidence, and perseverance along with the ability to succeed in whatever endeavors you have chosen for yourselves after having come out of the watchtower.
i too, after having spent 30 years serving the watchtower, two and one half years later, after having left he watchtower, i have succeeded in passing my medical examiner's tests and am now licensed to practice in one of the many health care concerns at the young age of 60.. this shows that all of us can go on and succeed after life in the watchtower.. this forum and the many nameless persons who have posted here have been an inspiration to carry on.

say something kind about someone else on this board.

Do any of you ex-jws find anything wrong with Born-Again Christianity?
by booker-t inmy friend from my jw's days ran up to me on the street the other day and to my suprise he is no longer with the jw's.
it has been about 16 years since i last saw him.
he was a "devout" jw's and we used to "pioneer" together.

It's not the beliefs, it's the BEHAVIOR! When people make a point to keep bringing it up, when they become imbalanced, then it is a problem.
To each it's own, until they start preaching, pretending to "discuss", but they really have an agenda. Then it just becomes same mantra, different dogma to me.

The Worst of Minimus
by minimus ini thought this can be a "fun" thread.
since there are so many "best ofs" out there, it might be interesting to poke fun at some of the "worst".
"what's your sign?

The most frustrating, sad thing in the world
by Soledad ini just learned that an ex-cowoker of mine became engaged to her abusive boyfriend.
she is probably one of the brightest, prettiest people i have ever known--but she doesn't believe that because her boyfriend would rather have her believe she is dumb, ugly and nothing at all without him.
i am so sad for this girl.. she was in college last year and he made her give it up.

You might want to give her a book called Women Who Love Too Much. Or some books on co-dependency.

I see a thing of beauty. Not perfect, but as good as it can be for me. I see sparkling eyes starting to crinkle a little on the smile, but that's ok. Because the smile comes easy & light.
Terry, I enjoy your thought provoking, intellligent posts. I'm sure people that look at you aren't seeing what you think you are seeing. Enjoy life!

Example: everybody avoids posting on any of their threads....
So, is this suggesting there is "shunning" going on here? Interesting . . .
No, I prefer to let people make a fool out of themselves without participating in it, if that is what they start. I'm, a lover, not a fighter

Undaunted Danny & Junction Guy are on the right track.
by gypsywildone ini was at the jws for jesus convention yesterday, even though i don't subscribe to their religion, & there are many other topics discussed.
two different speakers said that signs work!
they have experimented with advertising in papers & opening a phone line, but they are getting the most interest from non-confrontational, thought provoking signs posted around town.

I was only there the Sat. am, & early afternoon sessions, till 4. Was it you & your wife? Very nice. Maybe I'll meet you next time
Did you make note of that guy Wilbur Lingle & how he understood the jws perfedtly & the method to get them out is NOT to go head to head with them, because they like to fight. That is can take years of patice to do so (nobody give up!) And the Fearons, & their visual signs. I did enjoy it, met up with some old friends from before, & made a few new ones.

Posting Signs
by nowuask inyou are able to sue the witnesses themselves if you have a no trespassing sign posted.
the watchtower bible & tract society of pennsylvania nor the watchtower bible & tract society of new york, inc. will not protect nor represent them, if you take them to court.
make sure that you notify the courts of the sign being posted.

Chakka Conned, what a great name, lol!
I have my doubts as to the jws getting the message. I have an entire driveway full of rude, threatening signs, & it didn't stop them AFTER my husband called the KH & requested they take us off their little maps & leave us alone to enjoy our woods.

"JWS-Jehovah's Witnesses, have you found out? Call 1-800-WHY 1914." Stuff like that.
Incidentally, Junction Guy was such a sweetie, with the most engaging blue eyes & smile. It's no wonder when he pickets, with that smile, no one gets mad at him!
