ok so maybe i'm being played but believe it or not, i just got a letter from the president, that's right, the president of the united states of america!!!
he was thanking many of his constituents for supporting him in his campaign.
and get this, unlike the the problems that are resulting from donald rumsfeld's not taking the time to sign the letters, notifying their loved ones of the soldiers deaths, this appears to be written out in his own personal handwriting.
Isn't it interesting that there are some people that just have to be "right", & rain on someone else's parade or whatever, in order to do it.

i attended the meeting today, hoping for some encouraging words.
i arrived while the prayer was in progress, i waited, then found my way to a familiy i enjoy and sat with them.

Isn't this kinda tacky, like the other thread chastizing people for "not doing enough"? Isn't tooting one's own horn a little distasteful? Charity should be private & come from the heart. Why should it become a popularity contest?
I suspect the amount from the US is only the amount the US feels comfortable risking by running it through the UN. I am really proud of my fellow Americans. I have just seen some info on the news that told of extraordinary generosity on the part of the American people. I am not going to list amounts, etc. here for public consumption though.
Bottom line: Americans are very independent, & no one tells them what to donate, & no one jacks them up via raising taxes without a fight. They don't need snide little comments from the likes of Jan Egeland to tell them what to do or shame them into anything. The American public knows what to do & are doing it. The ones that can afford to & are in a position to do so (many), have been extrememly generous. Those that are able, are very big hearted & can be counted on. They are not "stingy". They just don't respond well to being brow beaten or ordered to do much of anything. They know what they should do, & they do it. Really, this smacks once again of service numbers posted.

Giving and bragging dont go hand in hand yeah, i saw it on CNN, FoxNews, CBS, ABC, read about it in yesterday's and today's paper, and heard it on XM radio. thank god you are here to keep me informed. Some of us give to charities all the time and this place is not to be judged on what we do as individuals for charitable works. Your post is completely out of order and I am amazed at your attitude. Some of us give and have given without needing to announce it with a fanfare. Some like the WTS, cannot give without publicising their acts of 'kindess'.
There are numerous sites set up on the Internet that are taking donations, the preferred method of help, and these take credit cards and cheques. Some of us have already given without needing to announce it to the world. Why is it ANY of your business what type of aid people give, monetary or otherwise? How much? Or if they give any? Are you the donation police? Mmmm, what THEY all said. People forget all the time that most do not depend on this site to keep us abreast of worldwide news & what we should do with ourselves & our money.
a friend of mine just lost his young 4 year son in a sleigh accident.
the child ( the same age as my young caroline) sledded down the front hill of his property into the path of an on coming school bus.
terrible tragedy.. my wife and i ; who have known them for some time; must attend the service this eveing.

We recently had to go to the funeral of a 21 year old we had known for years. We also kept sending food to his family, because everyone is numb & not really seeing to their own needs. We also typed up a paper called "Memories of Nick", about when we first met him, some really funny stories about him & remembering his car & fashon fixation, etc. We gave this to the parents at the dinner after the funeral & at some point they went outside & read it & returned smiling, but with tears in their eyes & said it was something they'd keep & treasure.
I also had gone to a flower shop (wwwRoyers.com on the web) & looked at all kinds of flowers, but settled on something under "novelties", it was a black metal Hot Rod car with flames, full of flowers, because that was THE essence of Nick. I signed the card from 4 of his closets friends from way back. I didn't know if this was a stupid thing to do or not, but they buried it with him.
What was the poor little thing into? Flower shops can do really well with these things if they have something to go on.
We plan to rteach out to the parents & try to be friends because they really want to talk about Nick & remember him, & they are kind of alone. Especially the mother.

I have go to right quick, but go to Amazon.com & check out the top 3 books sold on there about Thyroids. One is called Thy Thyroid Solution, for sure. It is very misunderstood & underdiagnosed in women. If you do have these symptoms, go to an Endochrinologist, even if your insurance won't pay & you have to just pay for it yourself. Doctrs often aren't taught much about any of this, it is just skimmed over & women suffer as a result. Do it, your doctor is just going off his understanding of numbers, not by your symptoms!

When you were doing the excercise, did you see any chang ein your body? Did the way your clothes fit you change?
It's not in the magic number of weight, it's all in how you look naked & how your clothes fit. Muscle weights more than fat.
