First I knew so many sisters who honestly believed that they could not run out of gas if they were in Field Service! lol
remember the Seinfeld episode where Kramer keeps on driving even tho the tank in on empty?
Maybe the sisters were influenced by this example !

I'm sorry to hear about your loss.
We had a Lab who was 16 yrs. old when he died, and my entire family was so devastated about it
that I went and had a small photo-tile made with his picture and name.
We placed it under one of the trees that he would sleep under. It is quite comforting now even after
four years to look at it.
One of my favorite authors was james Herriot, and when he passed on, a newspaper from Chicago Illinois printed
a story that explains a pets part in being a member of our family.
This is the very end of the story, I believe that it states quite a lot in its simplicity.
I hope that it gives you a little comfort during this difficult time.
In his story The Card Over the Bed, Herriot writes of an old woman whose only fear is that she may never be reunited with her animals after death because some people say animals have no soul. Holding the old woman's hand, Herriot replies"If having a soul means being able to feel love and loyalty and gratitude, then animals are better off than a lot of humans. You've nothing to worry about there."
On days when I miss the members of our animal family who have died, I comfort myself with a childish vision of a heaven where there are endless fields and woods in which to run, and St. Francis sits beneath a tree surrounded by every animal who ever lived. Who could doubt that James Herriot is sitting with them?

Not long ago I was able to visit the holocaust museum out in Washington DC. There was many references to Jehovah's Witnesses scattered
throughout the place. it was said that they were the only group persecuted who could have just signed a piece of paper
renouncing their beliefs, and walked out.
Over the weekend I was watching Schindlers List, and i noticed quite often during the movie how many people from that
time just could not believe that the nazis were actually killing people because of what they believed. The scene toward the end
where newly arrived persons arrive at Auschwitz, and they are just walking into a lower level, and the furnace=chimney is glowing red right above them!
My thought here is ,would people (JW's in particular) today still make a stand regarding their beliefs, or help others being
persecuted? It seems that here in the US the honor, decency, and unshakable faith in a religion does not exist at the level shown
during WW 2 anymore.
Lets say as an example that the government decided to shut down, imprison, and kill members of a religion in one country.
How many members would make the stand, and put their lives on the line ?
last month I attended a Jewish congregation meeting, and I was just awestruck by the history, and faith exhibited by the members/
Now that we have the internet, text messaging, cell phones, ipods, computers, cable tv, do people (young ones mainly) still have a deep seated, honest, impression of their own religion ?
50 years forward from that time would people look back at the examples set by so many members of their faith? -

Very interesting book titled ,
The bible in the British museum
Interpreting the evidence.
It is a guidebook of archaelogy findings in the museum, very interesting chapters.
One of them has a finding that proves Jerusalem was not destroyed in 607, but several years earlier.
Pictures/description/explanation
makes more sense than the ramblings of a bunch of old men living in new York -

back in the late 1970's a group of JW's went to a Kenny Rogers concert one night, and during the show he
would flip glow in the dark frisbee's into the crowd that had his name/logo imprinted on it. One of the brothers
ended up catching one.
This brother went on a camping trip several weeks later, and the Frisbee that he caught during the show
landed in the campfire by accident.
Well the darn thing would not burn, so the rest of the evening the group focused on tried to destroy it by fire but it
wouldn't melt. Some people from the group honestly claimed with a straight face that it made screaming sounds when it was in the fire
They came back convinced that the Frisbee was demonized and could not be destroyed.
I heard that it was thrown in the garbage, and that was the end of the "demonized" Frisbee.
Honest story, and for years afterward anything pertaining to Kenny Rogers was looked at as a "bad" thing in our hall. -

On top of writing a very good experience, you liven it up considerably by the use of humor,
It was quite surreal to listen to a Popeye-Ewok voice speak about Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego;
comments like that are really funny !
