Do Jw's Dress up in meeting clothes for Zoom meetings?
by jeremiah18:5-10 ini am just curious if anyone knows whether the "friends" still are required to wear "meeting clothes" for attending meetings through zoom?
such emphasis on dressing in a godly manner over the decades, would be interesting if some attend in pajamas or their work clothes, no makeup, etc....

Dutch judge rules that elders are not entitled to hide behind clergy-penitent privilege
by Anders Andersen intoday a dutch judge ruled that jw elders and the jw branch cannot invoke clergy-penitent privilege when it comes to information used in a judicial committee.. jw had filed a complaint with the courts because the branch office, two kingdom halls and a few elders' homes were raided by police almost 2 years ago in search of evidence related to child abuse issues.. jw argued that the information that was taken by police is protected by clergy-penitent privilege.
today the judge ruled that 1) an organization doesn't haven't such a privilege, 2) jw elders don't always act as spiritual counselors.
their actions as judges in judicial committees aren't protected by privilege, and 3) conversations jw have with their elders are often not confidential at all (as per jw policy) so jw elders can't rightfully invoke clergy-penitent privilege to maintain absolute confidentiality, because there isn't absolute confidentiality in the first place.. jw are thinking about appealing the verdict..

by lancelink ini was a witness from grade school ( 1976) until 2007. i seem to remember an important aspect that was always talked about at the hall as being a fact.they would say that "the rocks themselves would cry out" if the public preaching work was to stop,,,,, all i've seen and heard these past few months are the witnesses complaining about the witnessing work coming to a halt.but i've not heard one rock crying .. .

I seem to remember an important aspect that was ALWAYS talked about at the hall as being a fact.They would say that "the rocks themselves would cry out" if the public preaching work was to stop,,,,, all I've seen and heard these past few months are the witnesses complaining about the witnessing work coming to a halt.But I've not heard one rock crying .

Back in 1980 we built a brand new hall , and someone from bethel came to give several talks, ( we had a type of weekend celebration for this).
The person who came to our hall was Ulysses Glass, I don't remember if he was part of the governing body or not.
He was a very nice man, completely opposite of the wt leaders of today.
Anyway, the narrator from the 1st film sounds exactly like he did.

There was an excellent article several months ago regarding an elder from my old hall who knew about an abuse case for years. Yet he never reported it to the police. I was raised Catholic up until 12 years old, then my parents became jw. Was a witness until 48, but during this time I could never stomach all of their teachings. And I remember that when you don't follow every belief, teaching, according to the jw way of thinking, there is something wrong with your spirituality.
When I walked away, I dealt with the same dilemma you are experiencing. I looked at other religions, and on my own studied what they believed, ( warning please don't join a free study or anything along that line). I noticed how each religion attempted to mold me into their line of thinking.
So at this point I have gone full circle. I attend Catholic services occasionally, and have gotten involved in several of their volunteer endeavors such as helping children dealing with problems, assisting elderly ones , and by experiencing the results from these opportunities I'm learning to develop my own personal relationship with God. Being spiritual I've discovered is something that comes from an individuals heart, not someone telling me what to do. Being involved to a certain extent with a religion helps keep me focused on what is important in life. Ceremonies, prayer, and readings pull me back to what I grew up with and make me realize what is important to me. Getting involved 110% like the witnesses way of living did was just so wrong, developing my own relationship with God is a wonderful thing. Good luck with your journey !
