JWs ....Transplants - Canibalism

many opponents of the wtbts have published information saying that the wts forbade organ transplants, and the reason given was that the wts said it was equal to cannibalism.

Many of us older ones will be aware of Witnesses who died only because they refused an organ transplant. Are you saying that they died because they misunderstood what the Societies position was regarding transplants?

They died because if they had accepted they would have been disfellowshipped.

Witnesses today, and no doubt yourself, will say; "ah! but they were only following their own consciences and following the word of God as written in His book the Bible". If this is true then the Bible must have been edited in recent years to reflect a change of mind by God because many Witnesses today undergo transplant surgery.

It is blatantly obvious that you are the only Witness who ever understood the Societies original rules on transplants to mean that you could have one if you wished. If that is what they meant in the first place why did they change their rules ? they must have done so because Witnesses are no longer dying from lack of organ transplants.

1ST Century Christian Congregation

what would you have done back in the 1st century when jesus came on the earthly stage and started christianity.

would you have became his follower?

that is not the only congregation that had people problems.

The Bible speaks of MANY problems that existed within that Congregation. It had people problems. They were not acting as Christians. They would shun, discriminate, form clicks, allow blatent wrongdoers room freely within disrupting the peace and unity. People were backbiting, fornicating, teaching wrong doctrine and the list goes on and on.

But nowhere in the Bible do I find that these same people claimed to be Gods representatives on earth and were his chosen mouthpiece and means of communication with mankind.

Perhaps you could explain this apparent discrepency?

Does anyone make any money out of the Watchtower org..?

i presume most of the peple ar eunpaid clergy but does anyone actually get paid or live a life of luxury paid for by the org?

on other words is anyone standing to make a profit by continuing this work..?

This is one of those FAQ's to which no one really has a full answer. The best I saw was when another poster made the point some time back that you did not need money to live like a millionaire.

When you travel first class everywhere and stay only in five star hotels at no cost to yourself, then who needs money. It also helps to have your own private aircraft to ferry you around.

So, yes, they have the best lifestyle that money can buy without possibly having access to the actual cash. When I put this to a dub I was told that the GB deserve everything they get as they are all old men who put in long hard hours of graft. Unfortunately nobody has every told me what they actually do.

my mother has been through a lot in her life, some bad before the truth, then following through during and after.

almost all of which she never shared with me until the past few months when i had to have my questions answered to get past the events i was stuck on.

i feel i am aging in years every month now, and was curious as to why.

I have also had similar thoughts and experiences but I managed to find some tecniques that really helped. These include certain N.L.P. (Neuro Linguistic Programming) excercises and T.F.T (Thought Field Therapy).

Sometimes you do need a therapist to take you through these excercises but very often you can do them just as effectively by youself. I would think that much info on these techniques must be available on the net.

is there an actual psychological term or whatever for this kind of jw tactic?.

the tactic is where they head the opposing arguments off at the pass, like when a new person studies and they get to the point where they want to make a stand for "the truth".

the person studying with them will tell them to "expect opposition from your family, this is satan trying to get at you because now you have found the truth and he's mad.".

To be told that the opposition by relatives to studying with the J.W's is an attack by satan is simply known as a "self-fulfilling prophecy".

This is the sort of information that a good Watchtower troll might drop onto the board to discredit the "apostates" in the eyes of its waverers who come visiting

The statement simply says that this is an example (sort of information) of what somebody (Watchtower troll) might do (drop onto the board) to discredit others ("apostates") in the eyes of doubting JW's (waverers). Thats all it says and thats all it means - I can't be more straightforward than that.

If this sort of stuff has to be presented here (and this is an open board) then IMHO it should be presented as fiction not "truth".

Nobody is suggesting that you should not present your information - you have every right to do so and should be encouraged. But to suggest that what you are posting is proven fact is in nobody's interest and lessens the impact of the facts that other posters properly research and post using credible quoted sources.

Thanks for the comment sf but I did not say that tatt was a troll. Also I stand by what I said. tatt has every right to post whatever he likes here but to make out that what he is posting is somehow proven fact, when it is not, is very wrong. You might feel comfortable with it (I can't speak for others) but I don't. I believe that tatt should post his beliefs as just that, beliefs.

Anything that helps the "sheep" break free is to be welcomed wholeheartedly but this sort of thing has exactly the opposite effect and I know from personal experience it is seized on and used by our detractors.

I am sure you will agree that I have the right to make this point in a civilised manner.

Sorry Will! I was comparing the individual Witness with the individual Islamic extremeist in relation to their own deaths. If you are considering all aspects and actions concerned with their belief systems then yes, you are correct in making that point.
