SJW knows exactly where he is and what he is doing and saying. He registered on 20 Feb but only posted on 23 rd so took plenty of time to look around and get to know the ropes.
Like you, I can’t quite figure what he is up to yet nor how he removes his posting info. No doubt we will eventually find out.

XJW's and Mental Health Disorders
by ColdRedRain inas many of you now know, i was in the mental ward for a breif period.
after i got out of the mental ward, i was placed in group therapy where i am today.
i talked with my therapist today and he mentioned a very interesting fact.

I once asked a Presiding Overseer why he thought that there were so many people in the congregation with emotional problems. He said it was because the members of the congregation are trained to go out looking for people with emotional problems. This leads to more people with emotional problems going out and recruiting even more people with emotional problems.
It sort of made sense to me.

You well know that Jesus is not the mediator between God and man, only between God and the 144,000, therefore whether he is a man or an angel does not really matter to us men as regards being a mediator does it?

I doubt that you’ll be back to read the responses to your post but WELCOME TO THE BOARD in any case.
You seem a knowledgeable person so could you tell me if you think that the Watchtower Society joined the rest of Babylon the Great as a Non- Governmental Organisation for a period of nine years, to obtain inside information? If so do you feel this was a proper course of action for them to take i.e. "theocratic warfare"?

Service meeting - Don't talk to disfellowshipped ones at the Memorial!
by truthseeker inat the service meeting last night, we were told that even at the memorial, we should not talk to disfellowshipped individuals.
also, i don't know if there is any truth in this, but disfellowshipped ones are generally not invited to the memorial.
when did the "memorial season" begin?

I don't want to go too much off topic here but the Bible actually says "keep doing this in remembrance of me". It does not say how often neither does it tie the "doing" of it to any special time or event. Although it is obvious that one of the occasions would be the event of Christ’s death, this does not preclude it being done at any other time.
Perhaps Yeru could enlighten us on the Catholic view.
As a side issue, can anyone confirm for me that the actual precise date of Christ’s death as used by the Witnesses is completely and 100% factually accurate. I know that J Cannon has other views on this.

It all depends on what the surname is. I went to school with two sisters named Olive and Teresa, which was OK until you knew their surname was Green.
When I lived in East Africa my next door neighbours housemaid was called Syphilis. I think her parents wanted to call her Phyllis but since they couldn’t read or write and their English was not too good, the Registrar of Births thought he would have some fun.
Those colonial British were terrible for doing things like that to the local population.

gen 41:46 num 4:3 num 4:23 2sam 5:4 1chron 23:3 luke 3:23 adam was the first king.
an age god decided a man was of age.because if jesus was 30 and adam was only 25 then the devil has a legal case that god is cheating, that jesus had longer to develop than adam.

If the JW leadership is all about the money, what do they want it for?
by True North inin the brief time that i've been reading jw-related postings and sites on the net, i've seen a lot of stuff regarding the jw leadership being all about the money with the implication that there is something unsavory about their acquisitiveness.. if that is true, what exactly do they want it for?
from what i've read, the gb seem to live reasonably well (better, in fact, than the average jw would expect, i think) but it hardly seems anything that would have earned them a spot on lifestyles of the rich and famous.
so, why would they be so concerned about amassing organizational wealth?

We seem to be a bit off-topic here but it has to be pointed out that being or not being a J.W. has little to do with a persons level of intelligence. The point about going to college is that it exposes a person to alternative viewpoints and information, which would not be the case if that person just cleaned windows all day.
Obviously that exposure is not going to turn everyone subjected to it against the Society, but it can sure start them thinking and asking questions.

Welcome to the board.
The trouble with College and higher education is that it leads people into thinking.This thinking business leads people to escape. This in turn means that although there would be more money from better jobs, there would be far fewer of them giving it - possibly leading to a net loss in both numbers and income.
