  The Shekinah: The New Name for God?

  the hebrew word 'shekinah' is never mentioned in the bible.. the shekinah is said to be the "majestic manifestation of god which has descended to dwell with mankind.".

  the shekinah appeared as a cloudy pillar in the day and a fiery pillar at night.

  the nation of moses was led by the shekinah for 40 years.. the word shekinah is taken from passages referring to god dwelling in the tabernacle among the people.

  Is it the JW's or the God of the bible you no longer believe?

  i have a question for the ex-jw's on this forum after months of reading the forum..... many say how good it is to be free of the oppressiveness of the jw's that they can now enjoy the freedom to... have sex, celebrate christmas, gamble, embrace politics etc.

  there are still biblical scriptures and principles in place that if you still followed the bible would mean you avoid these things and yet these are now embraced as one of the perks of no longer being a jw so in my confusion i ask.... if these are what you want, isn't it more correct to say you no longer follow the bible as apposed to just the jw's?.

  hi issaacaustin i have answere all of your questions. i just think that jws are really sincere people who honestrly try to live by bible standards in their life unlike other people out there. and who else is teaching bible truth about the trinity, hellfire, etc? also i am not a jw and i have never read any jw literature for 10 years or ever been to a meeting or talked to a jw ever for 10 years yet somehow i have a comprehensive and up to date knowledge of current jw doctrinal debate tactics and i am trying to weight both sides of the evidence to see if i want to go back.

  By cutting off association with Christ and his faithful followers, they lost their spirituality and their joy.

  I particularly love this little puddle of bile. What "association with Christ" does the average Dub have, exactly? Christ is not their mediator; they don't pray to him; they don't talk about him; every week they study a book about a bunch of Old Testament prophets. Lost their spirituality? Spirituality is about asking questions, not blindly accepting answers. Lost their joy? What joy? The joy of stuffing yourself into a button up collared shirt, tie, thick wool suit, and hot, pinchy leather shoes, and waddling your sweaty ass around in 40 degree heat ringing the doorbells of empty houses to sell filthy rags for a bunch of miserable old fuckups in Crooklyn? That's the kind of joy I can do without.

  hands hubler was the rudest most arrogant man "jehovah" ever made.

  he was famous for kicking out sisters with crying babies during his talks.

  he went to a bible study as a sister asked him to come along, he saw the christmas decorations were up so he excused them and said they would not be coming back, "terminating" the sisters study, no discussion, no nothing.

  Help! what jw event am i trying to avoid this weekend?

  mother in law called last night.

  i could tell by the hubbies responses that she was inviting him to something that is taking place this weekend in east tx.. can anyone shed any light on what assembly, meeting, or whatever the fudge it is that i will be trying to avoid attending?

  i asked him if we were going to go visit his parents this weekend, didn't want to ask what she had asked him to attend.. i hate when she does this.
