Imagine no religion - living life in peace?

a lot of people have pointed out that a lot of the world's problems have religion at their core.

religion's crimes are vast.

from crusades to inquisitions to genocides to our current wars.

once upon a time there was a man named jonah who was traveling to nineveh on a ship when along came a mighty wind which rocked the ship violently, scaring the pee pee out of everyone on board except for jonah who like many biblical figures in various bible stories had passed out.

the brave sailors of the ship started to panic and began throwing things overboard.

... to tell people i meet that i used to be a jw.

over the last two weeks, i've met several new people, trying to branch out and make new friends.

i was surprised at how easy it was to tell these people that i used to be a jw.

the serpent gave greetings and and spoke in foreign tongues....a brother was passing by and attracted by the commotion, he went to the house ...as soon as he entered the room the serpent stopped talking.

the man cried out: "a magican has entered the room...the brother asked the man: "is that a serpent or a demon that has spoken to you?....i know that since god has created animals not one serpent has spoken, with the exception of the one in the begining in the garden of eden...seeing that the serpent remained silent the man left the building...later...he was anxious to get some literature....".

as i announced some time ago, jwd as it is will not continue .... ... but .... it's clear from people's comments that they do like the site and many would like it or something else like it to continue.. one issue was the forum software that was self-developed and not really in a good state to hand-over to anyone but i've been working on that and can now reveal the first release of what will probably be called jwn (son of jwd):.

it is still work-in-progress so not all features are enabled yet but it will allow you to browse the site in a similar way to this one and it is pointing at the same database (although because of the way the caching works, new posts made on this site won't appear immediately).
