The only Bible books I consider worth reading are the four Gospels because they present a kinder, gentler version of God- one who helps the sick and offers forgiveness... one that I can stomach and hold up as an example. The rest of the Bible is full of myths about an angry God and the dogma of church leaders.

An Elder wrote anomously...
by Butterflyleia85 ini realize as an elder that i am speaking out against the very organization i try to faithfully represent, but i personally think that the governing body is wrong by teaching that only what they teach us, as printed in the watchtower publications, should be considered to be the truth.
theyve made the expression of any personal opinions or group debates over their official versions of biblical truths subject to disciplinary action often leading to someone being disfellowshipped.. .
that is why i feel that i must keep my own identity somewhat anonymous.

How many 24 year olds refer to themselves as "girl" as opposed to woman? I think Butterfly is a teenage boy.

Since this post criticized spelling mistakes let me point out that "anonymously" was incorrectly spelled "anomously" and "stalkers" was incorrectly spelled "stockers".

Did you get drunk/take drugs as a witness?

I never smoked or tried drugs until I was "inactive" and just didn't care what I did anymore. I smoked to be social- the smokers at work took more breaks and these were accepted as being legitimate- as opposed to just sitting on your ass without a cigarette. But smoking a regular cigarette did absolutely nothing for me. I honestly don't get the appeal. Smoking pot, on the other hand, did make me look at the world a little differently. But honestly, I prefer good old beer over mary jane. And I guess I'm lucky that I never felt an addiction to alcohol, tobacco, or pot.

My brother-in-law said when he used to do drugs that he thought he was Jim Morrison. He would go around getting high listening to the Doors.
I took a CD on a drive with him and he knew the words to all the Doors songs- not just the hits, but the obscure ones as well.
I don't know who Jim Morrison thought he was when he was high. I guess whoever the Lizard King is.

Sleepwalking/Sleeptalking
by palmtree67 inapparently, i am quite the sleepwalker/talker.. i actually walk around the house, and have entire conversations in my sleep.. should i be held accountable for what i do/say?.
i don't know if this means anything, but my dreams are also very vivid.
if i am woken up from the middle of a dream it takes me a long time to get back to reality.

Many years ago me and a few other brothers worked at a hall build and slept in the same room. My best friend began talking in his sleep, saying things like, "Brothers- we have to get this done!" I started carrying on a conversation with him and it was really funny. He wasn't amused, though, when he realized what was going on and he got really pissed at me for waking him up. I said, "Hey- you started the conversation!"
On a side note, this guy was the best man at my wedding and now sees through the JW BS just as I do. It's great to have been good friends as superzealous dubs, as single guys at strip clubs, and as married guys who've been through "the war" together.

Your post isn't all over the place at all. I very well could have written it myself. This board often feels like looking in a mirror.

The 4 Sexual Deviants
by Farkel innewer visitors to this board may not be aware of the fact that the first 4 watchtower leaders were all sexual deviants.
i cannot for the life of me figure out how the creator could have personally selected these 4 men as leaders of his only true religion to be examples for all of the faithful.. i especially cannot figure out how the creator would figure these 4 sexual deviants should be used to give sexual marital advice and advice on raising children, since only 1 of the 4 had a kid and he pretty much abandoned that kid for a good part of the kids life.
also, he was the only one who had ever actually had sexual relations although they were mostly adulterous ones.. charles taze russell took "the vow" before his marriage to maria.

If you never drank too much then you were never a Witness.
