Planted a seed today... Update on de-program of my 16 year old son
by Aussie Oz inwell, some of you know that i have a 16 year old son who lives with his jw mother.
she has already mastered the art of guilt control on him.
i am most anxious that he not get baptized at all or at least unless he has really understood the whole truth, not just the watchtower truth.

What makes you happy?

so i decided to post an experience i find makes me happy!
first i should explain that i have a patio at the side of my home which borders a garden.

I saw this last night. My wife was in the office and came out and asked what I was watching.
I said, "20/20". She said, "What's it about?"
I said, "A JW elder accused of murdering his wife." She asked, "Is he denying it?"
I said, "Yes. Do you want to watch it?" She said, "No. Those shows frustrate me because they never totally prove whether someone is guilty or not."
Later she came back in and I told her about the searches on the elder's computer. "I've seen a lot of stories where that's happened," she said. "Do you think they could have been planted there?" "No," I replied. "I don't think the police would do that, if that's what you mean." (Maybe Satan typed in those searches to make JW's look bad LOL).
Earlier that night, my wife had gone to a shower for a neighbor's grown daughter. She came back talking about how the daughter was in a relationship with a man in prison, and how glad she was that she wasn't in "the world". (As if all "worldly" people are in relationships with inmates.)
So it was nice that the Witnesses get a dose of reality on national TV.

The 'other sheep' - Isn't it so obvious that Jesus is talking about gentiles?
by jambon1 inam i being silly or do some other religions have a different understanding of who the 'other sheep' are?.
when i was a jw, i could see so clearly that this group is the gentiles.
that is, of course, reading the text 'in context', rather than simply placing it in a flakey jw leaflet.. why can jehovahs witnesses not see that they are so wrong on this point?.

Creation speculation
by JimmyPage ini still see evidence of intelligent design around me, but i don't believe everything a book tells me just because it claims to be inspired.
so i ask, as i look around at creations, both animal and human, that are all flawed: is it possible that our creator was imperfect?.
is it possible there was more than one creator?

Since all creation appears to be mortal, is it possible that our creator(s) died a long time ago?

My JW sister made bat cookies for her child

But if there are people here who haven't read these verses I think it's great to have them quoted.
