Some things that we APOSTATES keep getting wrong. We need some FRESH IDEAS!
by nicolaou injust my opinions of course;.
money:.
a common attitude among ex-jw's is that the watchtower will face collapse only when the money dries up - i disagree.

I heard an experience in a talk about a sick child in a Witness family.
The doctor at the hospital was convinced the child needed a blood transfusion. The "worldly" uncle of the child tried to convince his Witness brother to allow it, saying he would take full responsibility for it himself.
The Witness family drove the child several miles to another hospital. The doctor there said they should let the child rest overnight and see how he was in the morning.
Turned out the child was fine. The "worldly" uncle was so impressed by his brother's stand that not only did he become a Witness himself but so did thirty more of their relatives.
What was wrong with the child was never explained. Why a doctor would let an apparent emergency go until morning was quite disturbing.
Certainly there are countless more experiences out there that did not have happy endings, where children died and no one was impressed by the stand of this cult.
The whole talk was just disgusting and shameful.

Who chose your flavor of God?
by cyberjesus inmost of us in this board at some point believed in the same god, jehovah!
but since there are many religions in the world and throughout ages there has been many other religions who also believed in their god, the question is,.
who chose your god?.

I'm not 100% convinced there is a God, but I can honestly say I began to be attracted to Zen Buddhism after having read the WT book "Mankind's Search For God". I also like the portrayal of Christ in the movie "Jesus of Nazareth" which I feel is pretty faithful to the Gospel accounts. These are much better flavors of God then Jehovah, God of Armies.

Restoring the "life pattern", where is THAT in the Bible?
by VM44 inwhen the watchtower tries to explain the resurrection it says that the individual's "life pattern" is placed in a re-created body.. ok, what i want to know is where does this concept come from?.
where in the bible does "life pattern" appear?.
for that matter, has the watchtower even defined what a person's "life pattern" is?.

This is one of the concepts that even as a child I could see the stupidity of.
If we don't have a soul then a resurrected person is just a clone of someone who lived before, not the actual person.
The actual person would still be long gone while this charade is walking over their grave.
