I'm with you Mickey! I really want to come up with a "sign" as well. I've been thinking about this a long time. I like the fact that you haven't let the issue drop despite some naysaying. Let's come up with something real. I want to know how much doubt is out there too!

Well I'm sure you've probably heard by now about the suicide of a Governing Body member. What you may not have heard, however, is the REST of the story. Apparently he was finishing a book that blows the lid off the WTBTS! All about the mind control methods, the UN connections, the pedophile coverups, and the money being made. Word is he was even scheduled to appear on Oprah! Guess the big question now is- will this book ever see the light of day? And was it really suicide- or was there foul play involved?

by Alpaca ini have the sense that we are seeing a lot more open dissent on jwd with dubs who are still in the borg or fading.. what do you guys think?.
how many have recently left or are in the process of leaving as a result of jwd or other related sites that expose the borg?.
what was the final straw that did it?.

I got started here because I thought my C.O. was a really arrogant guy. I googled his name and lo and behold- many others felt the exact same way about him! Then I started looking at lots of topics and sites related to JW's. I really like jwfacts.com. It opened my eyes to Beth-Sarim and lots of other things that aren't publicized by the WTBS. I had faded back when I was disappointed about the 1914 generation (in 1994). Then I had been in and out for the sake of friends and family, never DF'd. But then I saw someone I grew up with on this site and started posting. I have since talked to him on the phone and it's so nice to see other people with the same background and feelings that you have yourself! What a great site!

by cognac inmuch trouble... or, things to do at the mtg that will raise eyebrows but won't get you into to much trouble.. i've been thinking about this since i still go.
i'm surprised at how much a person can get away with if they are in a hall that they have no family in that particular kingdom hall.... at the memorial i put on so much dark eye make-up i was shocked my husband didn't say anything walking out the door.
instead, i got compliments, lol, not exactly what i planned on.... one of my friends who faded went to the memorial and she had a pretty low cut shirt on.

All you have to do anymore is wear flip-flops. ("It's more appropriate for the beach"). -((That's where we'd all like to be!)) Or "layered clothing"- that was brought out at a recent assembly and confused a lot of people. The speaker wasn't very clear in what he meant when he said that. Also how about a necktie with your favorite team's logo? Or a Spongebob tie?

starting at the age of 12 my parents were pressuring me to get dunked, it started when i came home from school one day and there was a young dub waiting to study with me, he tried for a few months till it became obvious he was more interested in my sister than getting me in that pool.
another attempt was made when i was in the 8th grade, i was walking home from school and a pick up truck pulled over right in front of me and there was another young jehovie, he told me to get in the car, i told him no, and he said that if i didnt get in i would be in big trouble with my parents, reluctantly i got in, he proceeded to take me around town to a few of my friends(worldly) homes and started telling me that these people were all going to die, and that if i wanted to die with them.

" also what do you think of the past two year texts- "obey god as ruler rather than men" and "stand firm and see the salvation of jehovah"?

Assembly Days Ahead
by WTWizard innow that we are past the reject jesus party, many of us have those big boasting sessions (the one-day) and great boasting sessions (the two day) ahead.
these are a bigger waste of time, since they take the whole day (or two days) instead of just the evening.. then, there is the grand boasting session (three days) during summer.
some will be starting in late may, when children are still in school.

Remember when you could use the district assembly as a semi-vacation? Not anymore. Now the Society wants you to wear a name badge at all times when you're out afterwards and not dress down. Gag me! The rules are just more and more controlling.

A prayer I'd like to hear

we thank you that in 1919 when jesus came to inspect his belongings that he appointed these men of truth to help us in spite of the fact that they still celebrated christmas and venerated the cross.
we thank you that brother rutherford was there to enlighten us and that even though the faithful men of old did not appear on earth in 1925 to his house in san diego we know that he was not a crackpot but an anxious seeker of truth.
