"Christ or E.T.?" and other dumb WT crap
by JimmyPage inwhen i was a kid in the 80s i remember the wt actually warning people about going to see "e.t.
" apparently this little alien's healing powers were a real threat to true christians, causing them to forget what jesus did back in the day.
i also remember the wt dissing "star trek 2" because of the little creature that khan inserted into the ear of chekhov.

Did JWs teach "alcohol is OK in moderation" to justify Rutherford's boozing?
by JimmyPage ini know a lot of non-jws who try to be good christians, and for them, part of that means staying clear of alcohol- period.. so how did this "alcohol is ok" come about for jws?
i have to wonder if it wasn't originally because rutherford was constantly blitzed out of his gourd..

Yes, Blondie, I'm fully aware that the Bible agrees with alcohol in moderation. What I'm getting at is another possible motivation as to why JWs originally agreed with this.

Yeah, I remember mentioning the Christ parallels with regard to "Superman Returns" to my JW wife and she thought I was nuts. But many non-JW reviewers caught it.
I also remember my wife's sister talking about why JWs avoid "Narnia" and the only thing they could figure was because it was "all about Christmas" since Santa appeared briefly. They constantly look down their noses at things they know nothing about.

I also remember the WT dissing "Star Trek 2" because of the little creature that Khan inserted into the ear of Chekhov. They used the scripture about "Who gives their child a snake when they ask for a fish?" to keep parents cautious about the evils of such entertainment. (Although I think the real threat in this case was that Spock referred to the Biblical creation account as a myth when discussing the "Genesis Project".)
What a paranoid, insecure organization. And the madness continues today when it comes to "Avatar" and "Twilight". Crazy!

All I can say about thr finale of "Lost" is...
by changeling inwtf???!!!.

The writers were making it up as they went along. It was always, "Wouldn't it be cool if this were to happen?" They didn't know how to end it and the final episode still left a lot of questions unanswered.
But that's okay because "Lost" for me became about the characters. And those characters were unforgettable.

Venus Williams French Open Outfit Dominates Headlines - Pictures Included
by Mythbuster invenus williams easily won her opening match at the french open on sunday, beating patty schnyder with consecutive 6-3 victories.
but it was not her performance that drew the most attention.
williams' lacy black-and-red outfit, which gave "the illusion of being see-through" according to the ap, is the tennis star's most talked-about on-court apparel choice since she wore a skimpy green uniform at the australian open in january (where she was voted an australian open hottie).

Why FAITH is actually a form of suicide
by Terry ini once heard a psychiatrist explain suicide as the ultimate act of self-preservation.
sound weird?.
counter-intuitive as that sounds, he went on to explain why.. when all you value in life is threatened you do whatever desperate act that will preserve that value.. destruction of self stops the ......process.....of consciously losing.
