my dear minimus...we got a big dose of education on how the elder body works and the Boy's Club in New York, when we tried to "work" with them for over a year when we had our biggest problem with them. But it eventually propelled us out of the org...so it was a good thing.

Politics and Elders
by minimus inthe rank and file may never realize how things really work in a body of elders.
everything that is done has zippo to do with holy spirit.
it's all about poltics, approaches, schmoozing and backroom deals.

Did losing your religion send you into/exacerbate depression?
by SixofNine ini think most of us here agree that our past belief in the jw organization as being god's sole chosen people was delusional on our part.
for myself, when i lost that delusion (fairly abruptly too), i came out of a long period of depression immediately.
while i was incredibly angry at having been decieved, i can't say that that anger translated into any other negatives, in fact, overall, i think my general level of anger, even at elders/the gb/etc subsided, as i now understood why they do what they do even better than they themselves understand it.

I would answer this question but I'm too busy sorting out my antidepressants and other drugs.

I keep writing really dark songs
by Dustin ini've always been really into writing song lyrics.
ever since i quit the jehovah's witness religion 2 years ago i've been letting out 25 years worth of rage.
where were you when i was broken?.
-
HadEnuf
Dustin...I think it is a good thing that you can vent some of your rage into your lyrics and song-writing. Those were very powerful lyrics. I know that a lot of Tristans (& Austins) song writing comes from the injuries they suffered as a result of being raised JW. It is a form of therapy of sorts. Keep up the writing...someday you're lyrics will be less dark and start reflecting new dreams and happiness for being FREE! Damn....you're a good writer!
A whole lotta love ...Cathy L.

this is ridiculous
by kittyeatzjdubs injehovah's witnesses as an organization have never covered up such a thing, and that is a bunch of ridiculous crap.
maybe you were molested, but you probably liked it.
anyone that does such a thing is removed from the congregation.

A great example of why we left this disfunctional, ignorant, self-righteous, head in the sand, mind-controlled org. Good riddance. This guy made me sick.

Please don't refer to your husband as...
by IronGland inhubby.
the term makes me nauseas.
carry on.
-
HadEnuf
Sorry...I shall carry on calling my husband anything I want to. I feel like I'm back in the cong. being told what to do by the elders. Better not read any of my posts if it bothers you because I love calling my husband HUBBIE.

ENOUGH ALREADY!!! I think I'm putting back up the other picture...it really looks more like me. AND...my dear Nancy Drake...me thinks you are mispoken. Remember...that is a head shot that you can't really see very well and you can't see what has happened to me from the neck down...and THAT my dear, is a total ruination. (or is it abomination)? Is that the right spelling. Oh who gives a rat's ass.

What's the best way to FADE away from the JW's?
by JH inwhat do you think is the best way to fade away from the jw org, without being df'd and without being bothered by them?.
just stop going and not answer their calls?.
change congregation, and never show up?.

The elders made such a huge mess of the situation that led us out of the org...that involved PO's, CO's, DO's & those dopes in NY too...that I believe that to this day they're afraid of us and that we could REALLY make trouble for them. They don't come near us! Go figure. Good riddance. So in our case; fading was pretty easy actually.

Well JH...I was thinking of having mine sharpened for that rat-like effect...but the hubbie forbade me to do that as he feared I would bite him and he would end up in the hospital with rabies.

Thanks CodeBlue...again...you are very kind. I guess since I'm shunned by my family, except for my sons and my older son's family...whyamihere and my two darling grandchildren; that it just doesn't matter to me anymore. But if I was still in the position, as many here are, of having to be anonymous because of family connections or such, I would surely be "incognito".
This is the best thread EVER!!!

P.S. You all don't know how much I wish I could meet each and everyone of you. YOU ARE MY FAMILY. (HadEnuf wipes a tear from her eye).
