Ahhh Sassy; to become Princess Leia! (without the side braids though). By the time I get to Jedi...at the rate I am posting. I will be nothing but a memory. HA HA!

as i was gazing at my quite fetching picture posted here from my (much) younger years...i noticed that i had unknowingly become a senior member!
now...it is perhaps a coincidence...but this comes very soon after my 50th birthday and i get to thinking: arghhhhhhhhhh...i turned 50 and they make me a senior member????
good grief.

I don't think I can Gopher. My life has been shattered.
But it would be nice to get a discount at Denny's! Maybe something good can come out of this grievous event.

And here I thought it was the number of posts that took you up the coveted ladder to Most Supreme And Totally Wonderful Exalted Super Poster. Silly me.
Now I must leave to lick my wounds.

i am new to this discussion forum and i wanted to introduce myself.
my story is rather ordinary when compared to other members of this board.. first of, i am still a baptized (irregular) jw.
as many jws, i started having doubts when viewing the dateline show regarding child molestation withing the jws.
First of all welcome!
A very sticky situation. A situation that no human being should be placed in. To have to give up your human rights and be interrogated on extremely private matters. I tend to agree with the others who have replied here. Have a heart to heart with your wife. THAT...is the relationship that matters the most in this situation. If she is agreeable to your "faking it" and being remorseful about your pre-marital fooling around (which, may I add, probably most if not all of us are guilty of to some degree before we married as "chaste JW's". Ha!), I would do that to save your wife and yourself from the misplaced wrath of those little men you have to grovel in front of.
I'm sorry for your situation indoubt. I hope that things go as well as they can under the circumstances for you and your wife.

I say good riddance to the girl who went last night. I had to mute her too many times. Next on my list to go would be the red-headed guy...too one dimensional...then the "pen salesman"...too boring and his dancing looks as if he's having a seizure. I would love to see George H. take the honors. He can sing great and has a winning personality to boot. Go George!

just wondering....
I guess not. All my family on my side already has shunned me for two years so I guess that would be a moot point.
But it's kind of fun flying under the radar of those ba****ds!

...and i don't mean the snake.. when will i ever learn to leave well enough alone...?
hmm?
in an effort to lift my spirits after a long week of mishaps and bad news, i decided i would do something for me.
Well I've got to say that was one heck of a funny story...except for the end result...but honey...I think bright red hair is really cool. Just get a really short, spiky hair cut and you're all set. Add a few ear piercings...maybe a nose piercing for good measure and perhaps a small tattoo to set off the hip hair.
Seriously...it's gonna wash out sooner or later...or if you are in deep despair...you could go get it professionally colored. I personally gave up on coloring my hair, so I wear it "au naturel"..."short & sassy". It's a good mix of silver gray & dark brown and I have gotten more complements on my hair this way than when I colored it. (Of course that could mean they're either very kind of very blind).
Good luck!

when we were jws, studying with our kids, pumping their little minds with the wt's teaching was a top priority.
i remember studying the wt with them, then the biblereading, then the bookstudy, the the great teacher book, etc.
it seemed like it never ended.
Our studies were always a losing battle. We have one son with ADD and he couldn't concentrate on ANYTHING for more than two seconds. The study would always deteriorate into a free for all with the youngest spending most of the time in the bathroom for a "time-out". To this day I think he poops at the exact same time every day as the time that we had the study! HA!!!!!
What a joke those studies were. Today if my kids were young I would just get a good story book with great pictures (none of that armageddon crap) from the Bible and read to them for short periods of time at night before bed...talk to them about Christ and what he did for us...and then read "normal" stuff. NO PRESSURE like when you're a JW.
Just my 2 Cents!

do you cook with mains gas, bottled gas or electricity?.
which do you prefer?.
is your cooker / oven / stove, whatever you call it, one piece, split level, eye-level grill, rotisserie or what?.
After much research and thought about this serious subject...I have gas...errr...I mean I use natural gas to cook because it is very precise to regulate for the top of a cookstove. BUT...of late we are using one of those little counter-top grills (like George Foreman sells...but a different brand) for cooking meat. Works great. Is very quick. And is perfect for anyone on a low-carb diet.
Arghhhhhh...this subject is telling me it is time for LUNCH!!!

i have been lurking for a few days and wanted to ask a question.
i stumbled on this website because i have an aquaintance who is a jw and i wanted to learn more about this religion.. first off, let me say that i am a christian.. my question is this: in reading a lot of posts, i see that many of you have left the religion because you believe the wbts has not been truthful in their interpretation of scriptures and because of their incorrect prophecies.
but it seems many of you still believe that they were correct in their belief that the trinity is totally a wrong teaching.
Hello and welcome!
If Blondie answers your question here...I agree with her.
Cathy L.
P.S. There are always some beliefs that you hold on to because you just feel they're the right ones. I personally would not have believed in the trinity whether or not I was of another religion or not. Well...errr...unless that was drilled into my brain. I just think that God, Christ and the holy spirit are separate...just seems very logical to me. I suppose there is a bit of truth and lies in every religion or institution. Did this comment make sense? Probably not.
