i keep reading everyones stories and thinking how brave you have all been, coming out of the organisation and facing all the repercussions of doing so.. .

i only last august disassociated myself.

Your story spag has really touched me, welcome to the board, and you are going to be ok! I moved away from all my friends in 2000 (the only way to leave the witnesses without gettting hassled!) to start a new life, I have made close friends now and am happy in my worldly life. Sometimes I think about going back but its always around my baptism anniversary and is a brief time of anxiety in which it helps to read posts on here to help me keep my resolve! Anyway I look forward to your many many thoughts and reflections!

Children are funny creatures, as a child when i read them, i never really understood the details anyway, i mean i thought the solomon staory was my favourite, as well as the Daniel story and the LOt story, never really noticed the killing part. Funny as a child you gloss over what you dont really understand, its only as an adult that you see true meaning, lol

sometimes i look back at my 27 years as a witness and am astounded by the amount of double speak that goes on in the organisation.

god loves unconditionally, but only certain ones, god is going to save the world from its downward spiral, but first of all he is going to destroy millions of evil people.

it is all so fatalistic and unkind.

It was the only book apart from my bible that I kept, I used to love reading it as a child. My daughter has read it too, doesnt mean she wants to become a witness tho, I think its a nice book of stories, Its hardly a crime to like it tho is is it?

Left all my bible books when i moved house, couldnt throw them away and didnt know what to do with them so i just left them lol!

Honesty is the best policy.

YOU are the head of your household NOT your dad. Just say that you have serious doubts about the GB arm yourself with a good agruement! I know you are risking DF but I dont think you can avoid it unless you start going back to the meetings like a good little boy! You have almost teenage children and you seemed to have made a family decision to fade, Say that where you had not much choice as to which religion you was raised in as a child, you have a choice as an adult.BLAH BLAH BLAH. Be strong, be firm, be a MAN!

Pop Psychology - warning

for the past few months i have found myself biting my tongue at what i have been observing with some participants on jwd.

please keep in mind i have been around since noah on these boards (circa 1997) and have watched several trends and people come and go over the years.. i am not seeking approval, support or anything other than expressing a personal observation.. every once in a while an egoist appears on the ex-jw boards.

more often than not a former elder who feels they continue to hold some sort of special wisdom that they must proclaim to the masses.

I worked as a temp for LLoyds TSB in UK and was transfering all old TSB to the newer LLOYDS system, this was after they merged, and all the UK accounts were with LLoyds TSB, as being curious as I am, I could look at statements of congregations, the congo were pretty clean, they only thing I saw that cause abit of curiosity were the huge BACS/WIRE like monthly payments to an account in america, when I say huge thats not exagarating. THAT WAS IN 2003

Diary of a thinking to return ex-Jw

i thought long and hard about posting this but the mis-information on this site finally persuaded me, i already accept many may not accept what i say on face value and get their appologist pens ready for making sure no pro-witness propaganda slips through the net on this site but here goes....... i've been on this forum for a few months my first post was about how i was thinking of returning to jw's and at my sisters recommendation to look at this site for both sides of the story before taking that step.. i faded from jw's 10/11 years ago now i left my hubby at the time divorced him to going on to have more relationships and kids, i was definately given the impression after asking on this site and with what i read that if i tried to return i might face df or at least a jc but definately a couple of elders questioning me over what i've been upto these last few years - none of these have happened.

i talked with an old jw friend (yes i do have then and she never shunned me quite happily accepted an offer of coffee from me and my asking for a chat) i told her i was interested in going back and was very frank about what i done in the last 10 years but not sure how returning was done now, she quite happily said she go ask for me to find out.. result!

she came back this week and said "all i had to do was goto meetings again" and an offer of a study was there for me if i wanted it to explore the open doubts that i had expressed i now had.. not quite the fire and brimstone welcome this site led me to believe would happen.. i will keep you posted with further updates if i feel the need to put them in future.. .

I beg to disagree, anyone with half a brain who reads your posts, can see someone inciting others to believe that my sister is indeed 'a troll, a trevor and an undercover JW set out to make mischief amongst the apostates. Which is not the case, You posts set out to do one thing, that is to remove any credibilty of her views. Im glad im not the only one to see that such bullying has occured.
