  I'm a useless Apostate :(

  i've been lurking here for a while now, posted a handful of times, but this board has had a profound effect on me.. i have just finished reading coc which i would never have even heard of if it wasn't for this board.. anyway, in light of everything i have learned here, i have been waiting expectantly for the next unsuspecting jw's to knock on my door, just so i can er, 'enlighten' them.. about 15 minutes ago, just that happened.

  i answered a knock on my door to be confronted by two jw's.

  one of them i remembered vaguely from a neighboring cong, and the other was someone i knew pretty well from my old cong.. so what did i do?

  All I know is that I intended to reply to NebbieGirl's passage: "I think I need to spend a bit more time here in preperation for the next time!" Whatever the outcome would have been I sense that she felt being unprepared.

  Wheter this old saying is here proper or not has to be judged by others not me. This is of the decent ones I recall in english and I just like it. Also it is a constant reminder as to my english.

  i have been watching the wt/un issue unfold.

  while i am personally disappointed with the limp response from the 'spindoctors' from the society i believe that we are flogging a dead horse.

  many of the people who would leave the society over this issue are already at a stage that they only need the 'straw to break the camels back'.

  Neither I would bet my money on people leaving the WT society. Past histories of religious groups tend to follow the same type of pattern. Along comes near zero growth and even in spite of major problems people would not leave in large numbers. Mormons had comparable problems and what happened as to their number? Nothing much.

  One thing common with religious groups on a long run is dissatisfaction forming a new minor group. This group will grow according the same pattern untill growth ceases and ....

  Question for those who know psychology?

  my question is:.

  a little girl who is part of my family has the habit of always holding on to people's ear lobs, mainly with persons who are close to her whether they are a relative or not?.

  what are the causes for this type of behavor?.

  My experience runs back about thirty years. I had this dream of a little child pulling my ear. So I had to get hold of a lady and we had two children pulling my ears for a while. At least my children (20+25 yrs now) ceased it in due course. Now I am looking forward for grandchildren to do the same - I love children.

  D wiltshire I just wonder what on earth would here cause an adult to call psychology for help?

  it is quite interesting to read in the aftermath of the september 11 tragedy.. .

  This is exactly what I remember from forty years ago. I recall one Watchtower article that more or less classified The Salvation Army a mere charity movement and so forth. Coming to closer contact after thirty years it is astonishing to find that new light has emerged with the pace comparable to the speed of light. But it makes me wonder why it has very little to do with the Bible scriptures? Most of "the new light" I have run across deals with wordly issues and thus is just giving in under the pressure. Yet at the same time the whole society tries to be more and more closed as to the outer world.

  Remains me of certain mushrooms grown in dark and nourished with manure.

  When we have met I have wondered the number of JW's he has been dealing with at the field. I thought that it was just a coincidence.

  Is there anything related specifically to UNHCR that you would still like to find out? I might be of assistance through friends that are associated with UNHCR in Geneva? They have tens of years experience of UNHCR field work in Asia and Africa.

  i don't know if this was discussed here before, but, what is the most ignorant comment you ever heard an elder say.

  i once had an elder say to me that my brother, who was at the time fighting in vietnam will be destroyed and killed over in 'nam because he did not accept "jehovah"!!!!

  i promptly told him to go "f" himself.
