  "Bowen has never established that JW's have more cases of Child Abuse than the general population."

  I think I saw this phrase before by the same author. It would certainly make an impression to me if this very society would accept situation where equal amouts of criminal activity is tolerated. It would be another ray of new flickering light.

  I am tempted to think that disfellowshipping should then restricted only if wrondoing exceeds the figures of that "general population".

  I am fortunate having sane father who's wisdom made up what my JW mother was short of.

  so what do you drink, where and how?.

  of course in britian we drink our pints down the pub.. i have to laught when i'm in europe as they only drink tiny glasses of beer , when you ask for their equivalent of a pint they look at you as if you are some nut case.. anyway i usually get through a couple of bottles of wine and several pints of larger a week.i drink most nights but not too much.. is it true that the legal age for alcohol is 21 in the states?.

  i remember celabrating my baptism at 17 with a few pints in the pub.

  Am I totally wrong remembering this 1/8th? I paid attention to the volume about 25 years ago when I had to live off from my daily allowance. Later I have more or less slipped these into my expense sheets.

  I should imagine so. I have brewed my own beer for years now, ingredients cost about 1£/gallon and the best part is that my missus likes it.

  I had to cry whenever I was in UK as they did serve tiny 1/8th of gill portions of vodka, when I asked for a quadruple they did look at me as a nut case and even asked "sir, do you know the meaning of that word?. I replied "yes, fourfold" and had my large vodka.

  Our measure is 4 cl and your 1/8th gill is about 1,8 cl. Here beer is served in pubs mainly by 50 cl and your pint is exactly 56,82615 cl. So I was worse off there.

  dear people, i posted my first post on anointed witness has no doubt stating that i have the heavenly hope and was seeking others.

  many of you responded and i read all your replies.

  i am lonely in terms of knowing few other young anointed and being an active witness, so this makes me an oddity among you and in my cong.. mnay also wondered why i was on this website of ex-witness,.

  I remember one old lady amongst the partakers long time ago. She only did show up at a memorials, nobody actually knew her. Shabby clothing and odd gestures were pointing certain direction. I just wonder do they count these as well? I have never heard details of the the criteria as to who is included in the count and who is not?

  By Tuesday "a ministerial servant" posted message on a local religious forum wondering why any witness would still idenfy themselves on the forum especially after special talk given last Sunday? By Wednesday the very same nick came up again and stressed main features of the special talk:

  "Armageddon is just around the corner. Concentrating on preaching is now more important and urgent than ever before. Do not lose your last chance by fraternizing with apostates (eg. on this forum and Internet in general). This is pointed especially to those which consider family- or other reason as an excuse to keep close relation with apostates."

  What a press stop, I was rendered speechless. Have any of you ever heard anything like this before?

  I downloaded this audio file from some elders meeting held some time ago. Playing these files did take me back tens of years. The only difference being rays of new light that cancelled previus new light on the subject.

  I am not familiar with anybody here who would enjoy lutefisk. Here it is just a part of traditional (pronounced: compulsory) xmas menu. Closer to your area it might help people get back to their roots when needed. Whereas one time in the past "Hip to be Square" by Huey Lewis used to be a faworite song of my son.
