Playing the guilt game

i just found out that my half-sister visited our 89 year old mother in a nursing home yesterday and told her that she should be getting out in service and to the meetings!!

i do so want to call her and tell her just what i feel about her and this cult of hers!!

i was a jw for 25 years and stopped going to the kh about 4 years ago.

I've had enough, I am going to QUIT!!!

i had picked up smoking back 7 years ago when my divorced started and now the time has come for me to give it up.

so, i have picked a target date, a goal mind you.

tomorrow , april the 4th is my birthday.

Good Luck on quitting! I agree with others here, that it stinks. I used to smoke, started when I was 17 and continued for 10-15 years. I quit several times but after 2-3 years I would start back up again. Then I started smoking cigars then quit all together. But.....since I have been having marital problems I have had a smoke or two just to calm my nerves, usually after I have had a beer or two.

What do you do when you exit and your wife stays in?

i have recently left the wts and almost have my da letter ready to send.

my wife is still in and is higly upset by my stand.

she is afraid she'll lose her parents because they are still jw's and refuses to leave the wts, she still beleives it.

True Weird JW Stories!

i have two true strange stories.. the first story is of this guy (lets call him bob) that comes to the portland oregon exjw "meet up group.".

the strange thing about bob is he has never been a jw...or ever wanted to be.

so why does he come to the meetings?.

Boy, this would really p*** me off......

But I did like this....sounds like something I would do......

Last weekend his kids came over to his home. They had a easter egg hunt...they didn't really want to do it but did anyway. They took all the eggs, candy and baskets home with them. The next morning all the eggs, baskets (no candy) were sitting on his front door step.

I do not know the ages of everyone here but the kids will probably wake up in their teens. Mine did.

Just an introduction

my story is not uncommon, just the usual "skinned and thrown about like sheep without a shepherd".
