  Anyone know who wrote the Truth book?

  as a kid, i remember hearing that "the truth that leads to everlasting life" was the best-selling book of all time besides the bible.

  if that's true, then whoever wrote the "truth" book is the second-best-selling author in the history of the world--second only to god!

  ray franz's books mention the authors of several society publications, but i don't believe he says who wrote the truth book.

  let's start a list of reasons why you were told, or overheard people telling, won't make it through the big a day.

  i'll start.. 1. they don't take showing up for cleaning the kingdom hall seriously and never show up.

  i overheard a sour puss old elder say this to his wife after he just gave a scolding talk on it.

  firstly, forgive me for not being able to quote the article directly.

  i noticed it yesterday while sitting in the sunday indoctrination session.

  the article for next weeks watchtower study talks about viewing other people as jehovah views them.

  Yeah, they're pretty d#mn judgemental if you ask me. And that goes for all of the Jdubs in the hall. I've seen all their little cliche's and if your not in their cliche they look down upon you and at times will completely ingnore your a$$.

  Just another sorority club to me.

  Anyone else having this problem with Witness Friends and Relatives

  they are all over me with all of these "end of this system of things" signs......earthquakes, cyclones, pestilences, cost of food to lead to food shortages, blah, blah, blah....did they make an announcement at the kh that "this is it!!

  " they say that we've never had all of these things happening all at once like we've had the past few weeks...... .

  When I here this I can't think of anything but all the hype the R&F are going thru. This sh#t just makes my in-law giggle with laughter because she thinks the end is near.

  Some of the others express the sense of urgency. Now they'll all be busier than a three legged cat in a litter box attempting to preach the terd.

  What a bunch of lifeless losers. They really do not know what they are missing.

  Hello Sweat Pea,

  I have been coming here a short while and find it quite refreshing. I was treated with a warm welcome when I arrived here and found some good sound advice here also. I enjoy the atmosphere here and look forward to sticking around awhile.

  Preparing for Armageddon

  when i was a kid i can remember really being scared that armageddon was coming, you know the crap about it's almost here, and i would never live to see high school and all my classmates would be killed by jemima, i used to have nightmares when i was a kid over this.

  i know of some family and friends who have since left the org, some have told me stories of how their family would prepare for armageddon, like keeping food and extra copies of watchterror and awacks, and have some kind of rehearsal for the end, some sounds like those old 1950's movietone shorts about preparing for the a bomb, did you or your family do anything weird to prepare for armageddon?

  sunday, may 18th was my big day.

  i decided to go to beth sarim, home of the princes and ancient worthies.

  so i loaded up the truck and rolled out, wondering what do you do when you meet someone so ancient that the roman empire was a mere twinkling in jehovah's eye.

  Is God just your "imaginary Friend?"

  when i had money problems i would pray to god for help.....i never got any envolopes with cash delivered to me anonomously.

  {like some pioneers} ..unless i got off my butt and earned some cash my problem remained.....when i was sick i would pray to get well...but only the doctor was any real help.....so i ask you, is jehovah or god just your imaginary friend to stop you from feeling alone?

  Saw an Elder @ the Van Halen concert last night!

  sunday, the giant center hershey pa. .

  before the show, i of course ducked into the mens room so that i wouldnt have to during the show.

  (which was awesome by the way) anyway, as i am standing in line waiting my turn, whom do i see turn to leave?

  I wouldn't try to hide from any elder or any JW for that matter no matter what the circumstances. BTW - I haven't seen VH but I have seen Van Hagar on more than one occasion. Excellent! I still go see Sammy as often as I can.
