Lies, Myths and fairy Tales....

in order to avoid doctrine, dogma and interpretation i am going to quote this one scripture.

i will leave it to the rest of my esteemed colleagues here to apply it to the appropriate tale in the bible.

i will start with adam and eve and the garden.. isaiah 46: 9-10.

I've had this discussion before with my Dad (an elder). I asked if Jehovah is "all-knowing" then why has he done what he's done and allowed so many people to suffer in the process. If he could make the world a paradise, why is he waiting and letting so many people suffer, instead of allowing them to be born into this paradise...?

His answer was: "There is free will, and God cannot or chooses not to see what decisions people will make and the outcome of those decisions." I also asked him why then he would tempt Adam and Eve with physically placing forbidden fruit bearing trees in the garden... he didn't really have an answer to that... what-ev...

they brag about the fact that they the don' t baptize their babies because "how can a baby 'know' what religion it wants to believe in the rest of it's life!".

but a 14 year old does?.....they put so much presure on their children to get dunked, that if your not baptize by 18 years old there is something really "wrong" with you.. so the poor kid does it, just to get everyone off their backs.

legally a minor can't be held to a contract if they are under 18 years old and why?

I soooo agree with exactly what you're saying... I have used this argument many times before... to no avail.

I was 17 when I was baptized and one of the last among my friends to take the plunge... I felt that I was falling behind the pack. I was disfellowshipped almost exactly one year later after questioning the Society and just drifting away... How I regret that decision... It has changed my life forever.

First missed memorial

this past weekend (as we all know) was the memorial for jws.. this year marked a huge step for me.. i didn't go.

ever since my mom got baptized, i think i have gone every year.. .

when my mom asked if i went, i simply told her no.. i had gone over my aunt's house and didn't attend the memorial.. she gave me an earful, but i didn't find it intimidating.. .

i think most people are ignorant of what being a satanist is.

this questions for the christians, what do you think it is?

i'm just curious and am not looking for a heated debate, just curious if people even know what it means.

To be honest, that's one thing I haven't studied at all... so I'm not sure.

On a side point though, at work the other day a colleague said something that got me to thinking...

Please someone correct me if I'm wrong, but I understood that the bitter herbs date back to the first passover in Egypt, where the isrealites used the bitter herbs to signify the bitterness of their bondage...

they sell the idea of living forever with an all-knowing god as something to look forward to.. yet, that means no privicy, and they cannot hide anything, including their personal thoughts and desires... have they not considered this point?..

As has been mentioned by a previous poster, that is exactly how they live their lives right now. They constantly feel God's eyes upon them. I suppose the thought of paradise is liberating because they believe that they won't face temptation and so having God breathing down their necks won't be so bad at all...

PS: Ceiling kitting is totally creepy.... I love it! Though if my cat did that, forget the squirt bottle... there'd be big trouble! LOL

Natural disasters in past and future paradise.

the future earthly paradise is supposed to be a calm, peaceful place where people can live forever in harmony with each other and nature, a place where nothing bad will happen, and suffering, death and destruction does not exist.. there is a problem here (well, there are several, but here's another).

what about natural disasters?

easy-peasy to answer; jehovah will make it so those never happen, right?.

So if it's 'always' been that way, and must have been so even through the original paradise (if we for the sake of argument say it existed), why would the future paradise be any different? And why is the universe (and earth) created to be such a violent place to begin with?

Did you know I am a SATANIST?

several months ago, my wife's drunken, wife abusing, bully of a jw uncle offered (we didn't ask...he offered, ok?

) to allow us to use some space on his property to store some things we had in a 10x10x8 storage unit we were paying for.

it sounded good since we are short of cash most of the time and it would only be for about 3-4 months.

You should have just told him that you wouldn't store your ouija bord on his property and that you'd leave the tarrot cards out as well :P Then he would have nothing to worry about.

What a load of crap, honestly I can't believe people can be so mind-numbingly blind to the propeganda that they are spoon fed! That's a nasty situation and I'm sorry you're having to deal with that kind of thing... try not to let it get to you.

Just out of curiosity, any idea why they though you had "demonized" things in your storage room?

Well, we went out after the memorial....

after the memorial, we decided to go out and grab a bite to eat.

my family and i went out with a witness couple that we consider close friends.

for the last couple of weeks, i've expressed my views re: wts to my good friend openly and turns out he had the same thoughts and doubts as well.

How did you spend the memorial?

personally, i stayed at home (my wife went), made steaks, drank beer, and watched several vulgar/demonic movies in the world of the jw's (halloween, the eye, hitman, no country for old men, saw iv).

i later went over to my mother in laws house to meet up with some other in laws - who i saved from the jw's - and talked about how the memorial was a waste of f@cking time... then drank more beer waiting for my wife to come back...
