  ex-JWs for Haiti

  a number of us ex-jws have gotten together to rally support for haiti within the ex-jw community.. as witnesses, few of us ever donated humanitarian aid.

  this wasn't because we were uncaring but because of what we were taught.

  now, in the wake of the horrific disaster in haiti, we can stand up and give to the people who need help so desperately.

  JW Money Drive for Haiti

  has the washtowel started their fraud money drive to ..... ahem....."help" the haitian brothers & sisters?.

  So far their statement on the WT media site says, (emphasis mine)

  "Witnesses around the world are offering their assistance. The Witnesses’ relief efforts are currently being coordinated from their world headquarters in Brooklyn with the assistance of the branch office in the Dominican Republic, providing practical help and spiritual comfort for the victims"

  I sincerely hope that they offer more than "spiritual comfort".

  I also just posted on JWN about ex-JW efforts to rally together to provide real support to the many who need it right now. Instead of JW earmarked funds going only to fellow believers, we can rise up and help with the large-scale humanitarian relief efforts and show the JWs how it should be done!!!!

  A number of us ex-JWs have gotten together to rally support for Haiti within the ex-JW community.

  As witnesses, few of us ever donated humanitarian aid. This wasn't because we were uncaring but because of what we were taught. Now, in the wake of the horrific disaster in Haiti, we can stand up and give to the people who need help so desperately. We can show people what ex-JWs are capable of—that we can mobilize for a noble humanitarian cause.

  We've created a website www.exjws4haiti.com where we are providing information about 4 major aid organizations (Red Cross, Doctors Without Borders, Care and Save the Children). We are not accepting donations directly, but providing links directly to those organizations' websites where ex-JWs can make donations to Haiti relief efforts. Our goal is to generate $10,000 in donations to the 4 organizations. We'll be updating the donation total regularly.

  Please, if you can join this cause and spread the word.

  my apologies for not posting this here sooner, but i've been swamped with a very big project... one that i will share with you in the not too distant future.. this is my most recent youtube video and addresses a subject i've identified as extremely important to many of us ex witnesses.. it's called deconstructing apostasy, and basically it examines apostasy according to watchtower... my hope is that the message will start to break down the barriers of what an apostate is and how the watchtower uses that term to effectively subjugate its members by silencing any conscientious questioners.. hopefully you'll be able to see it below, otherwise here's the link (it's best viewed on youtube in high definition) - deconstructing apostasy http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=n3j5hkv2cnw.

  To your last comment A@G.... Information War, that's an interesting phrase; I like it :)

  Thinking in terms of today's day and age, what wins out? Old boy's club closed room dogma, or mass media? I think the answer is plain. We are no longer playing by the rules of the old men in Brooklyn, but instead we are facing forward, showing our faces and telling our stories. Ultimately, in the end, they will lose - it's inevitable.

  Thanks guys & dolls for all your constructive and positive feedback. I'm glad you enjoyed the message... For so long this has been a really important issue for me... How do we get through to our family and friends who are still in when we have this annoying and ever-present stigma of "apostate" stamped onto our foreheads. So that's what inspired me to make this video - we need to break down the mental barriers that block JWs from critically examining the WT.

  I plan on making more vid's in the not too distant future and will be sure to keep you posted.
