I think there is a lot of apathy, but there are some (like my parents) who think it could happen at any moment.

Do JWs really believe the end is near?
by keyser soze inor do they merely pay lip service to the idea?
i have no doubt that some of them sincerely believe.
but when i was a kid, growing up in the '80s, i didn't know of a single witness, myself included, who didn't believe the end was close.

UGH!, he says they don't make the DF'ing a big affair, it's just a simple announcement, but it turns into a pretty big todo when ppl are awkwardly trying not to acknowledge someone DF'd.
Also, he's trying to convince us that it is a loving thing to do to someone..... sad.....

some quirks of the DC talks...
by metaspy inhere is a run down of some special things i noticed at the district convention.. i probably took better notes now than when i used to go as a jw.. however, my notes now are mostly "stupid" things that they say on stage.

Were you scared or nervous? Did you feel like you were doing something wrong? Did it feel liberating? Did you feel guilty afterwards? How long before you had to do it again?
My first time on JWD, I felt a little of all of these things. I didn't return for a couple of days and once I did I just couldn't stop. I was a lurker for a few months before I got up the nerve to actually start posting.
That's my experience, please share yours.

Adventures at the DC
by metaspy in[insert indiana jones music] i missed friday's session because i had to work.
actually i wanted to work, instead of go to the dc.. .
i happen to run into a "brother" who happened to work with me on quickbuilds not too long ago.. he was df'd for a bit and reinstated this year.. my mom had talked to him on friday about my current situation (not attending meetings).. he said he wanted to talk to me to see how things were going (red flags in my head).. .

"you can't blame Jehovah's organization for what imperfect men do"
I HATE it when people say that! There is just no accountability!

***** Name a reason people wont make it through Armegeddon *****
by FlyingHighNow inlet's start a list of reasons why you were told, or overheard people telling, won't make it through the big a day.
i'll start.. 1. they don't take showing up for cleaning the kingdom hall seriously and never show up.
i overheard a sour puss old elder say this to his wife after he just gave a scolding talk on it.

The WTS has officially said not to shop or donate to the salvation army or goodwill because of some religious roots those orgs had.

LOL, I actually remember hearing a similar story told by JW's that talked about a bird plucking out a dead worldly person's eye. Of course that story made the witnesses look good and they were all happy to clean up the bodies and pilliage the homes of the dead.
