This was taken from the back porch this morning; you have to imagine the rustling of the wind and the cooing of the doves. I love the colors of the sky.

Aw, StAnn, that makes me want to pat your little head myself.
I remember being fascinated with my hula hoop at about age 3. I don't remember news stories, but one of my earliest memories of tv was that old Jax beer commercial, with that huzzy blowing bubbles with her gum.

Are the Witnesses witnessing where you are?
by TJ - iAmCleared2Land init occurred to me the other day that it's been forever since we've had a jw knock on our door, leave a tract or magazine, etc.
we live in a suburb of a major u.s. city.. what about you?
when is the last time the witnesses visited?

They usually come by every Spring. Two years ago, they left a tract in my gate. I decided to leave it there, so they could see the next time they came around that no one was interested. Finally, after a year, I removed it - it was barely faded. Good Lord, those things are indestructible!

Why did you leave and did you still hold on to some beliefs for a while?
by happpyexjw inwhen you left the wts did you leave over something specific?
did you, or do you, still believe in some of the jw ideas?.
in my own case i left over a family issue i have mentioned elsewhere.

I left because of an ongoing situation in our hall, that had to be investigated over a period of years by the c.o, and finally wound up going all the way to bethel for the resolution. I knew, with what they decided, they were not interested in the Bible and doing things God's way. It is my belief they even went against their own publications to serve their own purposes. I knew people were not cared about. I was devastated to find I had been hoodwinked all those years.
The beliefs I still hold are the ones I went in with: Jehovah is God; Jesus is his son (if the Bible is true). When you die, you're really dead, not being kept alive forever in torment. I'm a little more agnostic than I used to be.
I also believe that mankind will always live on the earth. I suppose that's the one belief I learned from the witnesses and still retain.

Do you like bubbly personalities?
by rebel8 inwhen people are super bubbly/friendly/cheery, or constantly smiling ear-to-ear when the situation doesn't call for it, i immediately suspect they are either phonies, trying to sell me something, or suffering from bipolar mania.
that is not really very fair of me, but that's what springs to mind.. i hate nervous giggling too.
it completely grates on my nerves.

I actually do like some naturally bubbly personalities, but
I just avoid them before 10 in the morning.
Becky
I am one of those nervous gigglers. I think I have finally figured out why. I have a naturally deadpan sense of humor, and in high school my friends could never tell if I was joking. So I began to laugh a little after I said something, so they could know. Because I would never want to hurt anyone's feelings.
I imagine it is very irritating for those close to me, though they've never said anything. I have been working on it for a couple of years, but I'm afraid I'm not making very much progress. There's some nerves and insecurity thrown in there as well. I suspect that's why some of us feel we have to use smilies or hee-hee's on here so much. Some would be offended if they didn't know us well enough to know we were kidding.
