Tim Kilgore and E-Watchman square off on Charity....
by Tuesday inhey folks, so i figured i'd give an update on the ongoing back and forths between myself and e-watchman.
this might help if you come in contact with the argument about jehovah's witnesses not giving to everyone but only to other jehovah's witnesses.
i also have one regarding why jehovah's witnesses are considered god's chosen people after splintering from associated bible students and finally a bunch regarding homosexuality in nature.

I Have A New Grandson But He's Very Sick :(
by minimus inhe was born yesterday with many complications including breathing problems, possible lung underdevelpment, anemia and body temperature issues.
the poor little guy was hooked up to a breathing tube and tons of monitors.
because the hospitals couldn't handle some of the problems, they sent him and my daughter to the best hospital in boston last night.

something happy please!!!!
we have enough horrible negatives going on right now..

Thanks, FHN. Isn't it wonderful to look out the window and see water? So soothing and peaceful.

A few months ago, I signed a contract to buy this cute little place on a lake. Right before closing, I was hit with the news that ownership was being contested and would be tied up with the lawyers. My real estate agent sent me a form to sign to release the sellers and get my earnest money back.
I left it lying around as long as I could, as I had gotten emotionally attached and didn't want to let it go. I left town for the weekend to attend a closing for the sale of a house I'd had on the market for a year. So with money burning a hole in my pocket, I felt a little better about losing the other place. When I got back home I signed the paper, said goodbye to my own little boathouse, and mailed it off.
My real estate agent called about three days after it should have arrived. When the post office finally delivered it, it was mangled too badly to be used. BUT......just that day, the seller called to say everything was squared away legally and they wanted to follow through with the original contract!
So that's the very best thing that happened this month. The icing on the cake was that (by some miracle) I won the monthly JWD Trivia game! I know I'm pathetic but it made me happy. Oh, and I caught crappie for lunch one day. Mmmmmmmm.
Thanks for this thread, Restrangled. It felt good to read all the positive things.

How many of you knew about the"Jesus is not your Mediator" teaching when you were JWs??
by Lady Liberty inhi everyone.... just curious how many of you knew when you were active, about the societys official teaching regarding jesus the mediator.
i was floored to find in my research, that they teach jesus is the mediator for the 144,000 only.
and it is only by our association with them that we might have salvation.. i don't know about you guys but i was blown away when i learned they taught this.

I didn't know about it until going over my last set of baptismal questions. The elder told me Jesus was only the mediator for the anointed and all the rest of us were just "wannabe christians".
I just thought as an individual, he must have misunderstood something, and really didn't think any more of it. I didn't realize it was a society teaching.

I've always loved Twilight Zone, Night Gallery too. Been watching off and on all day; I've seen them all so many times, but it's still the best thing on today.
The one that sticks out today is about the train and the town called Willoughby. I just love that word.
