One person's 'depravity' is another ones fetish. One person's prudishness, is another's voyeurism. One parade in one city on one day does not an entire subset population make. Comapring a Gay Pride parade in Chicago to the merits of one's rights is no more indicative than watching a Girls Gone Wild - New Orleans tape and making broad generalization of straight people. and seeking to deny them certain rights because of such behavior. It's much like judging all Southerners based on a YouTube video of a KuKluxKlan 'bonfire'. Using the excuse of what gay people do on one day in Chicago on a festival to deny them the right to marriage is simply unfathomable. Fortunately, the Supreme Courts have felt similarly.
Some choose to move to the suburbs have their idealistic 2.2 children, and white picket fence, while buying the latest mini-van every 3 years and vacationing at Disney for 1 week per year. Some don't. Neither choice is superior or inferior. Just because you don't agree with someone else's choice doesn't make it wrong. The moment you want to curtail others rights is the moment your own rights are subject to similar curtailment. Or as Thomas Paine wrote: ' He that would make his own liberty secure, must guard even his enemy from opposition; for if he violates this duty he establishes a precedent that will reach himself.'

LMAO. Silly conservative, 'Islamic terrorists' don't carry knives. They wear suicide vests. Now you and your family are dead from shrapnel. And a perfectly good gun lays in what's left of your corpse pants. Four dead white people. One dead brown person. Next day, headlines bleat out Armegeddon, United States invades a brown country for retributions. More white and brown people die.

What? Oprah like cupcakes? I'm shocked!
Of the friends I have who are gay, not one has come over dressed as a member of the Village People. As a matter of fact, I don't think of them as my "gay friend" just as I don't consider my brother's wife as my "black sister in-law." And I'm sure the feeling is mutal.
Like I stated previously, you typically won't find a float of naked people humping each other at the St. Patrick's Day Parade. At least, not yet.
Ok, so you admit none of your gay friends has ever come over to your house, or met up with you all dressed up. So your entire reasoning for not wanting gay marriage, is because one day a year a bunch of gay people get dressed up, put on a display, and 'dry hump' each other on a float, at a parade specifically called 'Gay Pride'?
How interesting is a parade float going to be with men dressed up head to toe in clothes from the Gap as surburban dads?
If overt homosexual 'displays' bother you, then don't go to the Gay Pride parade.

Is the Tower of fear and deception really starting to crumble ?
by Homerovah the Almighty inthere has been some dramatic changes going on recently with the jws as everyone knows , i can only speculate this is due to the once well hidden secrets.
that have been hidden so well from the eyes of the faithful followers, the overwhelming information on the inter-net may be the cause of this.. perhaps the power and arrogance that the gb held for so many years is indeed starting to weaken.. i'm actually seeing the faith weakening within my own family members that have been involved with the organization for decades.. they do seem to be down sizing a lot in their operations, wouldn't it be surprisingly ironic if " the truth " was the thing that really was to bring down their structured lies.. well we can only wish, right !

It is human nature to see what you want to see. I think it is a case of wishing something to be true, and looking for 'evidence' to support your preconcieved desires. Nothing wrong with that, but just see it for what it is.

Of course she has sung. It is over.
Frankly it doesn't matter what some might do, or would do, or wouldn't do. If gay people want to get married, great let them. If you don't believe in gay marriage, great don't marry a gay person. It's no more 'illogical' than a politician or taxpayer lobbying for higher taxes to support a cause, yet in their last tax return 'only' paid what the govt required. It's a fact of life. Some gay people want to get married, some don't. Some straight people want to get married, some don't. But if there are protections and benefits offered under such laws, then they should be avaialbe to all Americans, equally regardless. There are probably 1,000 different reasons why a couple might choose to either get married, or not.
Those who oppose gay marriage will continue to lose at the Supreme Courts of the various states, and even the Federal Govt. It's just a fact of life.

The 'government' is ALREADY involved in marriage. The Federal govt has over 1,100 laws and protections benefiting married people. http://www.gao.gov/new.items/d04353r.pdf Add to that the state protections and you are over 2,000 laws and protections. Some mundane, some extremely important. Since the government has ALREADY decided to be involved in this process it is only expected that they make the process equal to all.

Trust me, I've 'been there, done that'. Here's a tip. Try to start all over again. Review the material anew. Re-engage the professor if you can. If all else fails, guess what? Who gives a rats crap? I had a class like you did a couple of years ago. I ended up withdrawing, so I could take it a again with a different professor. Where I previously was barely passing, under my professor, I got an A. Sometimes you have to know which battles to fight, and which to fold, and fight another day.

LMAO @ Billy! That was nasty. LOL
Roybattery....well hey do what you have to. The beauty of the situation is, that with each passing generation they are seeing homophobes for what they are; haters. The only people that really take exception to gay rights are old people, and as young people have grown up realizing gay people are not a threat to their own happiness, and marriage the attitude has gotten more relaxed. Soon enough old people die, as well they should, and progress keeps moving forward. Old people can lament 'progress' all they want, but change is inevitable. Life and death goes on. I only hope that if one of you children comes out to you and reveals he's gay you won't shun him/her. The world already has enough hate in it. Embrace anyone who can find some love and happiness in this crazy life.

Why would you assume that I don't have a problem with that? But be honest, can you recall seeing adults dressed in black leather with dog collers around there necks and carrying whips at a St. Patricks Day parade? I don't think so (and if they did I have a problem with it). What about a group of guys with only short-shorts on with dollar bills hanging on a float driving down State Street. I'd have the same issue if it were hetrosexual individuals doing this.
Why the need to constantly bombard the public, not with logical or reasoning, but rather with over-the-top sexual themes? I don't seem to recall MLK dressed in a thong when he led the march in Washington D.C.
Frankly, I think I look damn fine in a 'dog collar'. Why would someone wear such outrageous 'get ups'? Because it riles straight people all up, that why. LOL Believe it or not, it has nothing to do with you straight people. For decades gay people were shamed into the closet. They were told to 'just blend in', 'don't tell anyone', 'it's a dirty secret'. Pride Parades have loads of 'normal people' too. You just pay attention to things like my 'dog collar'. Pride is liberating. It's a celebration about being out, and as different as you want to be.
